Was watching Super High Me. I was curious what the costs were to get medical marijuana. The guy (Doug Benson) said the DR visit costs about $200. Is that correct? How much does the Marijuana cost once you have an ID?? I live on the east coast so I'm just curious what the costs of Medical Marijuana are to the user. Thanks for the info if anyone knows...if not I'll keep searching on the net.:) Later....Happy 4:20 everyone. P.L.U.C .....Peace...Love and Chicken grease

most doctors that do it will give you a doctors recommendation for 200 dollars and 100 to renew each year. but, you can go through medi-can i think its called for something like 150. i use an actual doctor who will go to court in my defense if needed, really good doctor. I have also heard that people in LA can get a rec. for 100.

from there, find a dispensary. they will take your recommendation, call your doc to confirm, give you an ID(in most cases) and let you in. prices range from each dispensary, but they usually charge on the higher end... and no discounts for bulk purchases... the dispensaries are a rip-off most of the time... no better than an expensive dealer

That sucks.... way too expensive but at least one is protected legally.

thanks for the info...

That's cool...though it does sound kind of expensive. You say your DR will go to court for you. Does that mean you could test positive on a drug test and contest being fired from an employer? That would be worth it! %) It sucks to have to worry about these tests. I mean if you only smoke at night or on the weekend why should your employer be able to control what you do in your own time in your own home with your own body?

My dad has his medical card in California. I think it costs 200 the first year and 100 every year after... Not any more than 200 though for sure. After that buds at a club are gonna run ya from 45, 55, or 65 an eighth. They have crazy brownies for like 7 or 8 bucks. Prices could be different in other places, he's in northern cali around Sacramento, but its a great deal. Its legal, and its always premo, and it always weighs out. Its a beautiful thing :)

know the cost

If you can grow your own I grow 2-3 plants never run out,get great seeds on line, some cfl lights and your off.

It is possible to get a $60 recommendation . . .if one doesn't have any foibles about frightening situations. That's the way I did it, and all turned out well! There are some places that truly aren't shady at all and will do it for anywhere between $60-100.
Do take care to avoid phony license "doctors," as that really could land you in trouble if you're caught with a false ID. There is a renewal fee on your license/card once a year, the cost varies between sources.

Clinic bud will usually run you anywhere from $40-65. Not all dispensaries are created equally, though, and so one must be cautious . . .I've had INCREDIBLE bud from a disp. that sold it for $40/eighth, and awful weed from different places charging $60.

A clinic would cost me much more than illegally getting my bud, unless I'm dealing directly with the owner... I've looked into both my options as bordering states have MMJ.

I paid $80 to get my card, with $50 to renew it (in the LA area). The price of marijuana varies drastically, of course, but it is well priced (I don't know if I can list actual prices, rules are rules).
I can say this: for the average person with average hookups, the prices/quality will be better at dispensaries than marijuana bought "on the street."

i have heard of club prices up to $85 1/8th..
from what i know the right to fire people for medical pot is still up in the air.. you are not guaranteed 100% protection from an a-hole employer.. but, that will likely be fixed soon..
and remember california may very well legalize this november..!

Club prices do go really high (though I have never seen anything as high as $85 for an eighth), but they also go really low. For example, I've seen bud that was $5 an eighth - it was shitty mexican brickpack-type weed, called "Cheech" (ha!) and quite frankly I have no idea why the club was even selling it.

Anyway, in my experience (I've been to a good amount of clubs in southern California) almost all of the bud runs between $35-$65 an eighth (so about $200-450 an ounce) from bottom to top, from good to super ridiculously dank [unless you go to a shitty club that taxes you, then you can pay $500 or $600 for an ounce that should be $400].

And the stuff thats $35-40 an eighth is usually better than a standard $50 eighth from 'the street.' Well I just realized this thread is a year old, but thats my two cents, maybe it'll help someone.

Here in Colorado, the state fee is $90 per year, and doctor referrals range from 30 to 90 bucks. However, many caregivers offer free referrals. The cost at many dispensaries is as low as $5 per gram. Very economical.
