no joke and certainly wasnt a backhanded compliment, i usually save that for dickheads! i think something has been lost in translation or something, i dunno. i tried to explain obviously unsuccessfully, i aint gonna try again. peace.

Like it's already been said, SSI isn't meant to cover everything. I know plenty of people who work and have to live with roommates to make their money cover everything. Perhaps it's time to do the same. I think this was already mentioned, too?
 
So what's your mental illness that is preventing you from working? There's plenty of jobs out there that don't require a brain.

Seems like an excuse to me. I wonder if laziness will become a mental illness some day

You realize you're complaining about the amount of FREE money that you're receiving. Do you know that money comes from people who actually work? A lot of people who work could use that extra money but nope we have to help out people who literally do nothing for society except act as a leech.

Makes me sick how so many people these days feel entitled to live a luxurious lifestyle when they don't want to put even a minimal amount of effort in.

Schizophrenia is not a one-size-fits-all disease. It affects everyone who has it differently. After years of medication and treatment, many people are able to go back to work. Some not. I don't know how long the OP has had this illness or what kinds of symptoms he is experiencing right now. You're not the OP's doctor...who are you to say he is ready or able to work?
 
I am not saying either, dear. I am interested in why he cannot work.

My co-worker's husband is a paraplegic. He was hit by a drunk driver while helping a stranded motorist on the side of the road almost 2 years ago. She never laments about what the government provides.

He can type sentences so he obviously doesn't have anything wrong with him durr hee hurrr. And lol @ luxurious lifestyle. Yeah living with senile family member with hardly any money sure is luxurious. I've worked, I've gone to school, I've found myself in hard times due to my illness... You don't know me, you're not my doctor so kindly fuck off, and the rest of you who want to judge. This thread has run it's course I think.
