i get the poitn some ppl made about drug users thinking they're 'better' than ppl who drink.. i guess i'm like that a bit
it's just that a decent amount of drug users go out and educate themselves about their substances, try to minimise harm, moderate etc. but very rarely do drinkers do that.
i've heard a mention once on this website about the concept of alcohol pre/post load but no-one else really considers that. i'm sure there are ways to reduce the hangover.
i don't have any evidence to hand, but i've read enough to be completely convinced alcohol is much more harmful than pills, yet it's legal and socially acceptable, so people overdo without really thinking about it.
i never used to, getting drunk was regular weekend activity, no thought of brain or liver damage. since i started doing other drugs, i started to look at alcohol differently, like a drug. y'know, dose, effects, comedown etc etc and i came to the conclusion it just doesn't compare.
the other thing i have is that i find it very difficult to moderate with alcohol. i might decide to go out and have just a couple, for that pleasant buzz, but by the time i've had those drinks my judgement is out of the window and i just have more until i'm in a state.
well, it's just me i guess
hasn't anyone else more or less given up drinking since starting other drugs then?
