Anyone ever tested Cannabis with Marquis reagent?

I decided to test some bud I have. Because I have reason to believe it was laced with.... something, based on a few things the seller
said to me. I was just pretty sceptical so I decided to give it shot and see what happens.
Most of it didn't really react at all, there was a very opaque black colour. But some specks were an obvious purple.
I'm wondering what this could be, or if it's normal.

Maybe some of you can try it out as well and report results, or maybe you've done it before?

THC will turn the reagent purple/black, so your fine. Theres really no reason to test weed though... the chances of it being laced are 1 in 1000, probably less.

No one tests weed, theres no reason too. If its laced, you will be able to tell very easily. The chewy Ive had in the past (weed and cocaine) was COVERED in powder, and it would fall off it you handled it too much. It would also numb your mouth, not so much when it was smoked, but if you ate a tiny bit.

I agree with all of this. I live in an area where PCP is common and if you want to get wet you can easily get it, and if there's PCP on your stuff you'll know it since it will smell and taste like chemicals, and from what my friends who were into dust have told me about PCP they put it on very crappy herb and you know you're getting it.

I've never used PCP and I've never used any of the cannabanoid RCs but on another forum I go to someone wrote about how their stuff had some of the RC cannabanoids on it and they could easily tell by looking at it since it didn't look like regular bud it looked like it had something sprinkled on it which it did, and they could tell based on the effects when they smoked it and how it tasted.

There's no reason to test plant material with a Marquis reagent. It's not like you're testing a pill for MDMA/MDA or other drugs.
 
I think there's a field test that tests the presence of cannabinoids but usually your eyes and nose are a much better at confirming whether it's weed or not. As for laced weed, well it's so rare that testing it would be an excercise in futility.
 
I remember growing up in the late 90's and hearing all these stories of laced weed, and people flipping out. People smoking a bowl laced with who knows what and flipping out, having no idea that they were smoking anything but weed.

Do know know how many times this has happened in the last 15 years that I have been smoking weed? Never.

I think the lacing thing was more common in the 70's when things like pcp and angel dust were more popular and people were a lot less safe! But things have changed alot since then and I think the laced weed issue has turned into something of a stoner's urban myth. In fact in my whole life i have only come across 1 person who has ever been tricked into smoking laced weed. The woman who it happened to is in her 50's and she was tricked into smoking laced weed when she was younger than me back in the 70's!

So there is really no need to be so scared, relax man!
 
Ha Ha, sure. I bet it'll be filled with MDA and MDMA, that shit is sooooo good to crush up on top of your PCP and then sprinkle on your shrooms before putting that in a big bag of cannabis and mixing it all together. Smoked in a blunt, obviously.
