Anyone else had a codeine addiction?

I realised i only took 8 mg suboxone this morning n did an hour n 10 mins of exercise as had lots of energy today. So just took the remaining 4 mg n going to do rest of exercise later as want to do an hour so I could rip fat off.

I realise I put this in my 'codeine' thread but I'm not sure where in EADD this sort of stuff goes n I don't want to appear as a troll so hope no one minds it going here? Sorry if anyone does.

Evey :) xxxx

Eh, it's your thread and it's vaguely related to the topic so it's all good!

Well im on 48 hours without codeine. Seems as though my tapper has worked as symptoms are not half as bad as they were when i went cold turkey off of a high dose. I havent had much sleep the restless legs are bad but not unbareable. Ive had no other symptoms except a bit sweating and anxiety a little. i know i have a long road a head of me but im feeling positive. Just very tired from lack of sleep hopefully that will go away in time. Ive been using highlands rls tablets and taking all vitamins especially iron. Ive also had 2 diazepam. Any other help let me know? Espeically with the sleeping part.

What has your GP said / done? Or is this secret?

Apart from that well in. Keep at it.

Got my codeine script. On friday, proper great timing going down south and all.

Well done Jade. Keep it up. It's the psychological that suck. If you need support we're n there is a section of Bluelight called The Dark Side which is for people in recovery so you're welcome there too as there's some amazing people who will give you support.

Keep going. You can do this

Vitamin B-12 (all the B vitamins really) are the important ones for withdrawal and RLS in particular. AFAIK (according to all the drug workers and docs and stuff I've spoken to anyway) RLS is a nerve thing and chronic drug/drink abuse strips the body of B vitamins. It's those that need replacing more than anything else. From personal experience I can say they definitely do help with RLS especially. Other vitamins and minerals aren't such a problem but obviously eating a good diet will help with general health. Vitamin tablets not so much as they aren't usually absorbed very well and the balance is usually way off when you take multivitamins daily. Current research suggests it can actually be dangerous to take multivitamins daily, in fact. Won't be a problem for a short period whilst withdrawing but you'll probably get more actual benefit if you take a specific B vitamin complex rather than a multivitamin.

As for sleeping, aside from benzos, I found valerian tincture helped somewhat. I needed to take waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than the recommended amount but it definitely seemed to help. OTC sleeping pills I've never found much use. Some people get on well with Nytol/diphenhydramine so worth a shot. I don't get on with 'em cos they didn't help at all at recommended levels so, being clever like, I decided to eat the whole pack. Don't do that. Antihistamines (like Nytol/diphenhydramine) are also delirients. The last thing you want during withdrawal is to suddenly be thrown into hours of delirious terror. Really not recommended. Stick to the recommended dose if you use any OTC sleeping aids. They are not like benzos. Far more dangerous. Recommended dose only.

Other than that, best thing is to just accept you probably won't sleep more than an hour or so here and there at most for a few days. It's exhausting and it really grinds you down but it's just the way it is. Even high dose benzos don't get me to sleep during a proper cluck :\

That aside, well done on getting this far - stick with it, not long to go now :)

Bloody hell Sham you've just taught me an awful lot I didn't know. I have RLS (drives gf mad in bed at night) and didn't know anything about this B vitamin stuff. Are you saying B-12 is what I'm after? Or B-what? Nobody has ever mentioned this to me before. Magnesium has always been the constant reply. I must admit, magnesium did kind of work for a while, but, yeah, could do with a new solution.

Ya, B-12 is the most important one from memory, but I think B vitamins in general are what you're after. Not gonna say it'll definitely work for you but worth a go, I'd say. It certainly helps me when I get RLS anyway. Hope it helps cos I know how maddening RLS can be. It's always been my bete noir of all the w/d symptoms. Drives me nuts and, as you say, even worse for anybody who has to share a bed with a sufferer :!

I get really bad RLS when I'm hammering GBL/GHB for any length of time. Taking a general B vitamin complex cleared it right up. Same for opiate w/d. YMMV but give it a go and report back - if it works the relief is worth its weight in gold... if an abstract concept can be given a mass...

I find Sominex (promethazine) a lot more effective than Nytol. Plus if you do take a few way less threat of delirium.

My god taking too many Nytols was one of the horrible experiences ever, was a disturbing trip, all these spiders were everywhere, hearing voices.... just fucking horrible.

Nytol is a really shit drug. Not a great thing to use a lot.

Thanks Sham for the B advice, will try and report back. By which time you'll wonder what I'm saying and why the fuck I'm saying it but consider it experiment on. Yeah RLS, no fun. I'll give it a go.

Massively abstract or not.

I was addicted to OTC sleeping pills for years esp. Promethazine. Yes can be very trippy and dangerous. I would never recommend these to someone who may easily b vulnerable to switching addictions I used these wen tolerance to opiates grew. Im amazed they are not regulated in the same way.

Stone please stay off MY thread. Thank you!

It's not YOUR thread. It's an EADD thread. A shitty attitude like that makes you no friends but will end up getting you banned. It just so happens SHM and myself were discussing a particular piece of HR info that is of specific relevance to this thread. Of course you'd be aware of this if you had less of an attitude problem.

Yes, and me and SHM were talking about codeine addiction... well... sort of. More specifically we were talking about how to get rid of RLS which, I'm sure you'll agree, is intrinsically related to opi addiction in general. If you really wanna be so petty as to start talking about "MY Thread" then please fuck off cos you are not welcome. If, on t'other hand, you are past the age of puberty then grow the fuck up. Seriously. What the hell is your problem? Are you a retarded 12yo or summat? :\

People have differences of opinion. That's fine. Don't talk to each other. But this "MY thread" shit gets in the way of actual HR. So, I say again, grow the fuck up.

EDIT: Sorry for being so harsh. I'm not known for harshness. Not my style at all. You really have to work at being a prick to get me this annoyed.
