Anyone else had a codeine addiction?

So meet up with the lass who works at the pharmacy, we briefly chatted sunday, met up this arvo

anyway she says she knows the regulars, but they only stop if people turn up too much. easily the majorirty of her job is to deal with people asking for co codamol. they know people abuse them massively, but its a way of getting money, if they said no to selling them then they would miss out of £

so yeah folks, they know what your up to, but just don't make a pattern of it, she says leave it at least 4-5 days cus of the no more than 3 days use label. of course you might ignore this advice, but thought id just sayi tt.
 
Of course, wcote, of course they know.... Have you see the cost paracetamol on its on compared with solpadeine max? I'd never bought paracetamol until the other day so never knew but yea the pharmacetamol conpanies are, in my opinion, feeding off this addiction....

I'm grand, just let go that's all.

Went for couple of coffee's with the lass, left her at 8pm I was up till 3am cus of the caffeine.... Nxt time we are going for a couple of pints. My head was fucking worrking in ova time!

I neva usually drink caffeine, past 3pm at the v latest.

Hahaha no!

Went for coffee for few hours, mistake to have a coffee so late.

She also said that pharmacists are known to be on methadone scripts but still able to work, which I found a bit strange!

We talked a bit more than just pharmacies!

why on earth would they be taking methadone... and not something better?



but aside from that, girls who work in chemists do inded have a certain thing goin on. if i hadnt been such a disinterested selfless cunt, id probably have a pharmacist wife by now

Yup the head pharmasists have been known to be on methadone scripts. Cus they have been abusing the good drugs!!!

Maybe I can get her to grab me some treats.... Doubt it mind :D
 
wow! there are so many pharmacies around here it would be easy to buy loads of codeine meds unquestioned. It must be a very sick nation indeed . Either that or peddaling drugs is a lucrative business to be in.

No she's not. Unless we're suddenly pretending that co-codamol isn't bought from pharmacies. Which would be a bit silly really ;)

Naming or linking to online retailers would be a no-no but a general comment that co-codamol is a perfectly legitamate OTC medication sold in every pharmacy in the land is fine. If not there's a lotta posts in the thread (and a few others) that need some serious *snip*ing 8o

If you think about it codeine so available on the high street is quite amazing. You can go into any pharmacy and get you hands on anywhere from 150 - 400mg of codeine, which is 15-40mg of morphine.

What I don't get is why they sell more than three days worth, why not limit cocodaml to 24 in a pack and ibuprofen + codeine to 18 tablets.

Would that help people not getting into the routine of taking codeine for more than three days. I would admit once someone is addicted it makes little difference. But if you gave only three days worth you would be keeping to the recommended timeframe
 
I think people should wean off codeine with lopermide or Kratom...
Taking suboxone for a codeine addiction is going from the bottom rung to the top. If you can't kick codeine you have little to no hope to ever kick sub..
But that's just MHO.
