I've taken two opiates recreationally: oxycodone and codeine.

Codeine was very stoning/noddy from the beginning, while oxycodone was stimulating for the first hour, then became stoning/noddy.

Yup. Morphine (of which codeine is a prodrug) is responsible for most of the effects of codeine, and it produces a decidedly more sedating high than oxycodone, which is known as a fairly stimulating opioid.

When I first started taking Oxy, it would be rather powerful and sedating, but as time went on and I became more accustomed to its effects, it did indeed become rather stimulating for me, mainly because it relieved me of some great pain I had at the time.

Oxycodone is well known for being one of the more stimulating opioids, and that is definitely my experience of it. It is quite normal and common :)

I think this question has been answered now so I'm going to close this - if you have any queries or would like some more input feel free to shoot me a pm.
