anyone drink redbull?

You know those lollies called runts? Wash down half a pound of those things with a couple of bottles of jolt. Mmmmmm... tasy and an energy packed rush that just lasts and lasts.

The Thailand versions of redbull (small square bottles & small cans)are freely available in oz! And i agree that they're much more potent than the diluted, carbonated, NZ/Aussie version.
They're available at all good asian grocery stores. In Melb, try Footscray, CBD (China Town), Richmond, and Brunswick. These places usually sell the fakes too, so make sure you take note of the red bull logo on the products, before you buy them.
They;re really cheap too, you can buy slabs for about $30 - $35. Better than forking out 5 bucks at a venue.

i lived in austria for a few years, and people drink heaps of red bull, especially students studying for exams. and people drink lots of vodka+red bull drinks...
.. but i have never really heard anybody complaining about feeling worse after the drinks than after just a night out with beers etc. and there was definitely nobody who died from drinking it!

You can find red bull just about everywhere. we even sell it at the pharmacy i work at. Personally, i don't really like it that much,
after i drink one can i feel really bloated and it doesn't really give me much energy nor keep me awake.

Did you know that most "smart" drinks like Red Bull, Red Eye, V have Glucuronolactone in them?
Like to see y'all say that one three times quickly
And one "smart" drink that doesn't is Liquid B

Redbull and vodka is YUMMY - but, at many places they'll charge between $6 and $8 for one (*cough* $10 at Two Tribes).
In one hand, a white fishie, in the other, 4 redbull and vodkas... hmmm I know which one I would choose to get more bang for my buck

The chick who died was in Perth ... err .. I'm pretty sure ... and she wasn't drinking V, it was some high Caffinee drink, though - and she died from heart-disease related problems ... she had a heart condition, and shouldn't have been drinking that much stimulant.
It's true, it was on colour telle !

Oh yeah - I asked the yanks, and they seem to confirm that you can get Red Bull over there.

Hey all, I was just surfing around looking for information about the recent medical problems experienced by some people related to excessive consumption of energy drinks, and in an Australian university study on sleep deprivation, I found something funny. Apparently when the body is deprived of REM sleep for really long periods, hallucinations can result. Maybe the body is making up for not having dream-sleep by dreaming while awake? This text is from the report.
"Martin had stayed up all night (and most of the night before that) studying for his history exam. He had it wired. The extra study had given him a complete overview of the course and life was going to be fine and dandy. Martin walked into the exam room, sat down and read through the paper. He had no trouble reading the exam but when he came to actually answer the questions a strange thing happened: the letters comprising the words comprising the text of the exam decided that they were scared of Martin (or so it seemed to him) and they all scurried off the page and underneath it leaving the paper blank. Needless to say Martin was quite astonished. He lowered his eyes to the level of the desk, picked up the corner of the paper and cautiously looked underneath it. All the black letters moved away from the light and into the dim dark depths under the page, the capital letters using their size to great advantage, all the e's huddling together like sheep to protect themselves (Martin realised that e is actually one of the more intelligent members of the alphabet despite it being so common)."
[Three cheers for e!

"After carefully lowering the page (and ignoring the strange looks the invigilators were giving him) he decided that since his exam paper was afraid of him there was no way he could complete the exam. He carefully packed up all his things and, leaving the paper behind on the desk with the letters still huddling under it, walked out. Unfortunately his lecturer wasn't too impressed when Martin went to explain why he failed the exam."
I just thought that was a pretty amusing image... though everyone else in the exam is probably lucky Martin hadn't been speeding for three days, otherwise I imagine he'd be REALLY irritated that the lil letters were running away from him, and then the whole scene could've turned ugly.

Oh yeah, I did find this one report from the 'European Commission' (whomever that may be), entitled "Opinion on Caffeine, Taurine and D-Glucurono-gamma-Lactone as constituents of so-called "energy" drinks (expressed on 21 January 1999)"
It's long an pretty uninteresting and the main conclusions are: in terms of caffeine, energy drinks pose no problem to non-pregnant adults (based upon 500mL of energy drink per day - about 1.5 to 2 cans, comparable with coffee and tea intakes) but as with normal caffeine drinks, pregnant women and children should use in moderation. In terms of taurine and glucuronolactone, they're unable to draw conclusions due to the lack of toxicity studies etc. So, as with most other reports on non-illegal substances when they have no answer, the official recommendation is "Use in moderation." -- well... yeah.

Red Bull's totally legal in the States, sold in clubs and in shops. And California, despite the misleading "free-love and openess" reputation it has, is really tight arsed, so you 'd better believe if it was illegal there'd be no way youd be able to buy it at a bar.

though ill take one euro over 3 fuken olympic shitty rings!
oh euro where art though?

I don't undrerstand this thing people have with V or Redbull. Redbull has a bit of Caffeine - About as much as coffee and the Gluco ingredient breaks down slowly into sugar to keep energy moving into your muscles at slow rate. - Check out any health book and read about Glutamine and Glucose!

Anyway, WHY FOLLOW THE MEDIA! Thats what everyone drinking V is doing. I wanted to see what 6 V's would really do to me, and it did nothing! Except probably a placebo wakefullness. I get F%#*ING high off three NO-DOZE - 300mg of caffeine. I like it when I am in control of my own awareness, I like E because I KNOW I will not change my sense of self, whereas things like psychedelics - Especially DMT and 5 Meo-DMT blow your sense of self outside the boundries of Fantasia. V does not change the state of my body. I cannot FEEL the V flowing through my brain making me tingle. If I want to stay straight and dance I can do so having a couple lemonades. If I want to relax I close my eyes and breath deeply feeling my muscles relax. If I want to take myself into another world I take drugs or meditate, depending on the occasion and situation. The media takes advantage of us by attempting to convince us that V does more than it really could. V has little if no Psychoactive properties, so why bother. Just to add, Gruanna is broken down to caffeine, so hey, all Gruanna is, is a slow release formula for caffeine. I earn enough to keep me happy, but I don't want to waste my money on V/RedBull etc... or bad pills! I WANT MDMA!

That is why I love the site! So if you really want to get into something different, or want to know about the crazy things your mind can do, with or without drugs, don't read the newspaper or watch television. Read a BioMed book the phenylthylamines/amphetamines/Tryptamines/Ergot extracts and all the rest of those psychoactive alkaloids!
smile.gif

Keep it smart and in moderation then you'll learn how to correctly make your brain feel GOOD! :P
Love you all!

well i agree that there is something in it that should be illegal i know this dude who was drinking red bull and vodka got kicked out of 5 clubs got in 2 fights so there is definantly something bad in it but is it bad for you ?? all i know is i gotta try some !!!
