Opioids Anyone done hydromorph contin?

I got those little orange round hydro's couple months back, i believe 2 mg. First time i crushed up 3 (6mg) and snorted them. I felt good, not too high but a very good mood. Second time i took my other 7, same way and i felt way to energetic and talkative. I personally dont like being that talkative i like just relaxing and enjoying it. oh and another thing, when i took these i got soo goddamn itchy, i had to drive to my girlfriends house and get scratched on every inch of my body for 30 mins straight. Even anti-histamine didnt get rid of that itch. So have some benadryl handy, cause i just had some shitty itch relief pills.
 
The reason WHY people keep assuming he wants to inject it is that the oral BA makes other methods of admin almost pointless. People who pay the price for dilaudid generally aren't doing to get 20% of its potential effect by blowing it up their noses.

Hydromorphone, cause of its instant crush, has been described to me as the crack of opiates. Very nasty stuff with unfairly nasty WD.

Take no MORE than 4 mg IV on your first try- I would suggest 2 and work your way up slowly. Because of how quickly this shit get's on top of you, there's no time to get smart with the naloxone if things start getting a little too fun.

One thing I forgot to add - if you're really interested in injecting pills, you will need a kit like this or similar in order to do it "safely"
1) 25 mm, 0.2u (micro meter) pore size, wheel filter (acrodisc makes great ones that we're trying to get at the center) (~$80/50 - clever people will be able to reuse these things without contamination)
2) box of 3-5ml luer lock syringe (100 units)
3) box of your favorite insulin needles, or an appropriate size of Luer lock needle (27-29 ga)

If you use this stuff properly, the injection you end up preparing will only have water soluble compounds... aslo, because its a sterilizing filter, you dont need to cook your stuff UNLESS it wont dissolve at room temp. This is the only safer way to inject pills.

My advice is to never ever advise someone to IV whose not done it before. I can tell you from 30+ yrs of experience and seeing many guys and gals end up on the streets, rehab, prison, and dead, it's not a good idea. Only a small minority are able to chip with a fit and get away with out some bad consequences forthcoming. i know there are some here who have/can do it, but they are the exception to the general rule. Addiction does not usually have a good outcome.
 
Hi all, Today I got a script from a clinic for my neuropathy, it is hydromorphone Contin 12 mg capsules. I have been on many different drugs for my illness and have had bad reactions to almost everything but the narcotic opiods. I was taking 8 tabs of hydromorphone 2mg and a Fentnyl patch,...but the patch gave me a body rash like I was stung by a wasps nest. So now I am starting to take the 12mg in addition to the 2mg for breakthrough pain.
This evening about 4 hrs after my first 12mg tab my body became super hot and I was sweating and really uncomfortable, as well I am noticing I am quite nauseated. Do the sweating and nausea pass after a few days?
I also like to drink alcohol, but I have never had more than 1 drink per hour, and never get actually drunk. Am I at any risk of an overdose or circulation collapse? and if I have a little weed would that help the nausea?

Thanks for your help, those are questions I cannot ask to my doctor because of stigmas and labeling in the medical community

Just figured I'd chip in because I am on a similar dose as you. My target dose is 15-18mg with 4mg (2 two's) for breakthrough (15 for the last year), but recently my doc and I had miscommunication (med issue about wisdom teeth) and she said she was uncomfortable and weened me off (so I was in killer pain the whole time). Now I'm back up to 9mg. Anyway, just a little background incase you wondered.
Your symptoms just sound kinda typical for a new dose or a new user. Hydromorphone is just a potent opioid (Moreso than oxycodone at equivalent doses, in my opinion anyway.) In about a week you'll be fully adjusted, you may feel euphoria for a while, but I don't think that's usually a problem for most patients. If you take some Gravol or something, it may calm your stomach and not make you dizzy, it has helped me in times of need. Weed is a great idea, it seems to help me a lot, so you may want to try it out. Just start small. It also helps you sleep too, obviously. Sometimes the meds will keep you awake at first, did you find that, too? Also, until you are adjusted, I'd take it easy on the booze, it may make you feel more sick than happy. You're right about it depressing the circulatory system, since everything is already slowed down from the hydromorph. It's dangerous to mix at this stage in the game, but if you're totally determined, keep it to a drink and then have some water or juice man, it's not worth the risk. I'm advising you not to drink, but the statement above is like if it's an emergency you have to have one, or if you're dependent, keep it to only what you need to be well. Anyway bro, you'll be good in a few days, just bare with it.
 
Hey man im just throwin this at u as advice and personal experience...Me im addicted to those stupid beads i have been putting them up my nose for 4 years now. The ones i've seen around here are 3mg green caps, 6mg pink caps, 12mg orange caps, 18mg tan/cream/can't think of the word for the color of those caps, 24mg grey caps and 30mg red caps(reds,big reds people say diffrent things) Myself i do 2 reds a day i split them up into 12s then do whenever. They are the crack of opiates i know but soo hard to get off i don't get near as many withdralls on 3 or 4 ox80s as i do from one red it's kinda crazy but it really depends on tollerence i guess(accident 5yrs ago/backpain/perscribed/addict)<---sums me up. I take a plate and spoon and crush the beads (them if u want use a crusher for more fine powder)then up the nose. I wouldn't do it any other way i know tons of people that use it in IV form but thats there choice. Normally i get the chills right away then releif then eventually nodd off depends on the day and how much pot or hash i smoke lol. But the mornings suck worst WD symptoms ive ever had bud but good luck and be safe they can get out of control FAST i know it happened to me and all my friends.
 
Thanks Scottd420, I tried some weed and the nausea subsided. I haven't noticed sleep difficulties because I take Lorazepam 1mg for anxiety per day and Zopiclone 7.5 mg at night. I didn't get much euphoria from the hydromorphone, probably due to the fact I have been taking opiods for over 3 years for chronic pain. I definately am open to maximizing the routes of delivery. If these pills orally are less effective I want to try whatever it takes to relieve pain. I am always fighting my doctor for an adequate number of meds and they keep filling me refills where I always run out 1 or even up to 3 before my next refill. If there is a way that I can stock up a few for emergencies I will do that. I am tired of waiting 2 days for the clinic to phone me back when I am out of meds. No more WD BS. I am at the point now where I feel like telling them I need more just to stay on top of pain. I really am thinking of doing IV only if that means I can conserve pills, or if it is more effective at controlling my pain, otherwise life is not worth living when you can't enjoy it!
 
I do not know anobody who was able to "conserve pills" after switching to IV. If you are going to IV your meds, you are going to raise your tolerance something fierce, and then you will have to shoot up to get any pain relief at all. If you are serious about controlling your pain, don't do it.
 
^ To be fair, now that I have CONTROL, I am able to go through significantly less with IV, though with certain drugs(I.E: Oxycodone) it won;t matter. But I still agree; there are very few situations in which the BA advantage of IV would actually allow you to "conserve" drugs, and typically once you start IV'ing, you won't be in a conservative mood. Also, for everyone suggesting he IV these things because they suck any other way, remember that hydromorphone is very potent drug, and if he doesn't have a tolerance, IVing it is a horrible idea, not to mention, your just suggesting he learn to inject all the sudden. Come on, people, I was laready an addict when I started IV
 
I tried plugging and it didnt seem to have any effect, so I took the plunge and tried IV. I took all precautions and had 1 very pleasant experience. I have since tried 2 more times with nothing but distasterous results, wasting the medication, and having a hard time hitting my veins properly. Honestly, that route seems to be very difficult given my visual impairment. I have so much more respect for the late Ray Charles at this moment in time.

I did speak to my pharmacist regarding the ineffectual results of swallowing pills and asked if I could somehow get the medication in liquid form for injection. I have no fear of needles as I have been a Type 1 Insulin dependant diabetic for 28 years, My pharmacist told me that may become an option if I speak with my pain clinic physician. Chronic nerve pain is not unlike what an opiate dependant user experiences while in WD.

The pain from neuropathy has rendered me unable to walk or even stand for more than a minute on my feet. It is in my arms, back and neck as well,. Unfortunately this is a chronic condition that just gets more severe over time. Yet I constantly have to battle my doctor for stronger meds every appointment. So, it may be impossible to get what I ask for. Time to pull out the big guns so to speak and have my brother write a letter on my behalf. He is a cancer specialist and knows what his patients endure with pain, hopefully that may yield some results!
 
I was maintaining on the 12 mg one's for a while...I was IV'ing them though,like 4 a day....these things are great,The solutions pepped from these are crystal clear,but very potent.alot better then slamming MS Contin.
 
So 4 capsules x12mg with IV = how many injections were in one day? I take Insulin like that,...since I was 14.

When I tried the IV route my mixing spoon went from crushed pellets to a cloudy.milky white. Wierd, that was my first time and I didn't really know what I was doing, already on a path of death, my kidneys are failing, I am half blind, and have chronic nerve pain......jeez, pain tells me there is no god. At least I have a doctor!

p.s. I went to Rock Lake in Algounquin prov park one year and was eaten alive by black fly bugs...they were so small but took chunks of your skin!! It was insane, camping in the rest of Ontario was fantastic
 
3mg hydromorph contin

I have had to take them for pain, but seeing as i am post gastric bypass, they don't disolve. So i take 3 of the 3mg caps, open them in a shot glass, add a bit of hot water, take the fat end of a good chopstick, and crush the balls up. Once it is liquid, about 5min, you can drink it. 5 min later lalala.... But drag is for me anyway i usually use this for night pain, and restlessness....i wake up 2 hours later, like i slept for days. Be careful, i have woken up having to cough for hours because my breathing was so depressed, i felt like i was drowning.
