anyome ordered glass pipes online?

probably better prices and better pipes online. depends if your all picky n shit.

i like to at least feel a pipe in my hand before i buy it.. check the airways closely.. so i buy local - also my friends encourage me to support the local glass workers..

If youre not picky about pieces and don't mind not having a one-of-a-kind piece then grasscity is good. They have molino which is pretty good quality and sales quite a bit. Some are 100+ but at the same time some that are a little older are 15-20 and same quality/brand

^^^ I second what fatstep said, also, if you want a piece you are going to be happy about (and sad when it breaks) go to your local shop.

as others have said, you will be able to feel the weight in your hand, inspect the airways, and ensure there are no cracks. also photos usually cannot do justice to the cooler more artsy pieces. the airways are the biggest dealbreaker for me, as obviously a large hole in the bowl will suck more snacks through.

If your lazy or in a place that has no head shops near, then ordering online is great. My most recent pipe was bought online (simple $15 glass) but IMO support your local glassblowers and head shops if possible. I'm really picky with what I smoke out of, especially when a lot of money is involved, and I want to make sure I'm able to thoroughly examine a piece before I buy it.

Sourcing is not allowed, I will EDIT your post if necessary.

;)

also, the majority of what is sold online is going to be mass produced garbage either from sweatshops in LA or China. These pieces, i think, are questionable to use (lead etc in the glass) and usually break pretty easily. A local artist, however, who has a reputation on the line is gonna make damn sure each one of his/her pieces are going to be high quality.

got my 1st pipe off...........

a website that sells all sorts of stuff, they have commercials

You can do it.........*B*y

but as others have said online glass usually sucks, unless your buying like a branded bong, most handpipes and shit are gonna be trash.

Well that's true, but most brick & mortar head shops just import cheap Chinese crap too. The ones that sell nothing but high quality work from local or domestic artists are few and far between.

This is the 21st century; the availability of high quality goods is greater on the Internet than in person for anyone outside of like, New York City.

Many people aren't lucky enough to have local glassblowers or artists making pieces, I have to go about 100 miles to get locally blown shit in asheville, and I absolutely adore it all because of how great it is Ive never broke one bowl in my life like that. Molino doesn't break too easily, theyre usually 100 bucks even though theyre mass produced theyre great pieces. You'd obviously rather have a bowl from an artist, but for value online's not bad if location fucks you up.

There is one real store I buy pieces I care about. They sell local artists work all labelled and even some notable glass blowers work. They also have roors and some mass produced stuff but, its hardly crap. I agree with most others though a nice piece done by a real artist can be used like a hammer on a table without breaking it. If your spoon broke in your pocket maybe its time to shell out 125+ on something that will last. I wouldn't do that online though.

If you just want a cheap piece to stash somewhere then by all means internet away. I prefer papers anyway.

yeah, bought a roor bong, perfect, v.happy etc then i broke the downspout.

i went o/l to buy another. i was warned: ''Please note that the length of the downtube is measured from the top of the ground joint. (i.e. the part that meets with the top of the bong)'' i then had the choice of 18.8 or 14.5. i had no idea what these numbers referred to, or the length of my downtube as it was in shards outside on the floor.

apparntly i could choose lengths from 10.0 cm to 17.5cm

i somehow worked out mine was 18.8 x 11.5cm and ordered it.

when it came its bore was too small. this one was a 14.5, for once the store and not me had messed it up. when i phoned they put their hands up straight away and sent me the correct item and paid p+p for the return of the 14.5. this all happened within 4 days

kk i had some grief initially because it was the internets, but it was resolved very quickly.
