Anybody have a crazy asian mom?

She's surviving in this world because she was raised to believe it's the work you put into life that keeps you going [if she's anything like my mom]. I actually find it inspiring. But my spoiled, self-indulgent Canadian mind can't really accept it fully [yet]. LOL

I understand the strict Asian mom stereotype but imo this is way more than that. Your mother just sounds cruel and manipulative. I hate to be the person on here going around crying NPD, but your mom sounds like a text book example of one to me, and a raging one at that.

I recommend watching this all the way through. If not at least 5:23 to the end. He's pretty much describing your mother to a T.

As far as my advice, I would say cut her out completely although I doubt you're going to do that. If nothing else I would say at least stop enabling her abuse by involving yourself in financial things with her (like the car), and keep a good distance and very little contact. The fact that you say you were forced to buy the car imo really shows how much of an enabler you've become to her. I guarantee as long as you put yourself out there for her and get yourself in situations that you don't have sole control over you're going to continue to be made miserable and insane by the woman your mother is.

Wow! I'm just shocked by this insanely ridiculous post! Man, I sure have seen em now!

I thought you were just a troll when you first arrived in this section... Now I'm certain. But by all means, make a good argument as to why what I posted is ridiculous.
