Anybody have a Buprenorphine Doctor like mine?

The only thing that worked, the only thing that has worked for others I've met (many people)
Is Dextox, and then Rehab.

Suboxone IS AN OPIATE
It STILL IS STIMULATING THE OPIATE RECEPTORS
you WILL STILL WITHDRAWL UPON CESSATION OF SUBOXONE EVEN TAPER

And you're left with FIENDING FOR OPIATES BECAUSE SUBOXONE IS A FUCKING OPIATE!

If you're on suboxone you may as well stay on it for life... like methadone

VERY few people actually succeed after suboxone treatment

You haven't met everyone so that's quite the generalisation. After over a decade of heroin and methadone addiction, I switched to Subutex, tapered over two years, spent a week in detox and haven't gone back to strong opiates since. No cravings, no withdrawals, easy. If you want to stop you will stop and bupe is - for many, not all - the best treatment available to deal with the physical w/d symptoms and stop cravings. YMMV.

It took me two tries to find a good pain management dr. They are out there. I would find a different dr. Mine is not happy about me being on Valium now but she is happy I am off the Xanax. I do feel better on the Valium it's not such a "roller coaster" being that Xanax has such a short half life. But she didn't "go off on me".. she understands I have panic disorder..

You don't need to put up with this kind of shit, and you can tell him you are not a child. Atleast you are on Bupe to better yourself and to fight your addiction just because you are addicted to opiates doesn't mean you will be addicted to every other medication thrown your way. Maybe you want to tell him that. You pay a dr, so if you don't like a dr you can fire them. You have fibro, so I know you are in pain, you don't need to put up with that kind of shit.. I have had issues with dr's in the past dropping me for no reason out of the blue ect. I would tell him how you feel and tell him you don't like his attitude, sadly his attitude most likely won't change. But you can change dr's. I was lucky to find such an understanding pain management dr.. they are out there you just have to look for them. It pisses me off because they are supposed to help people not make them feel like shit... I know how rough fibromyalgia can be... good luck.. keep us posted!

Yeah, I believe this to be correct. You pay your doctor to help you, if he's not helping you then just switch doctors, not all of them are dicks and you don't have to put up with this one being a dick.

Lando, there's no reason to derail her thread, so unless you have anything useful to add. Shut the fuck up. Next.

Actually I'm a guy/male/man ;) Hope that doesn't scare you.

Your advice has been VERY helpful and I really appreciate it. Like always.

I went to see my doc today and I told him straight up "amphetamines will still probably show up in my system, as I took them on accident but my doctor took me off the Adderall and prescribed me Provigil. This was a lie.

I see my psych tomorrow and I'm going to have to get him to prescribe me Concerta so that amphetamines don't show up on my urine test that I have to take "again" next week. Unfortunately I hate methylphenidate.

I'm confused if I want to do this or simply stand up to him and tell him that my ADHD has always caused me real trouble since I was a child and thoughts of relapse would probably be worse since I don't think things out without the correct medication. However I'm scared to argue with him as he always wins even if he is wrong.

By the way, Suboxone does work for me. I've been clean 2.5 years. I realize I'm on an opiate but don't care to question what works for me. I've been off it for a week and experienced very little withdrawals so I don't worry about that. My problem is that I don't want to be thrown off it this point in time (due to med and dose changes every other week for fibro) because I'm on medicine that helps (except the benzos, they make everything bad) me and he WON'T approve of. He isn't my psych and has no idea about my problems. Sorry, I have to vent.

get a new Bupe Dr.

they're a dime a dozen.

if u need the adderal then that is your perogative

only you know whther or not you have a problem w/ the adderal

i too have adhd n am prescribed adderall and i too have been on Bupe maintenance, so i personally feel your dr is going over board b/c i have a very addictive personality, yet i have never abused my adhd meds and i never would, i fuckin hate them soo the thought that using adderall as an opiate addict leading to a relapse to me seems assinign

id get a new Bupe dr if i was you

Nope doesn't scare me :) I think alot of people on here think I am a male, but I am not.. lol For some reason I thought you and your wife shared this account and your wife was the one with fibro.. That could be due to my poor reading skills. If I were you I would find a different dr and not switch all your other meds to appease this one dr. Ultimately you know what is best for you, not some jackass you see for 20 minutes or so. I just don't tolerate shit from dr's anymore.. they can all kiss my ass. If they're gonna treat me like shit, I won't pay to see them because there is one who won't treat me badly. You deserve to be treated by someone who treats you like a person. So call around tommorow even explain your situation, you will be suprised to find that you will find somebody who is more sensitive to your situation. Also I gave my psychiatrist and my pain mgt dr's rights to speak to eachother if they wished... so if either one had issue with medication prescribed and so on. Luckily both dr's are super cool with me and they don't get in my business.

Also if you hate methylphenidate then there's no reason for you have to suffer being on it. I won't take medication I hate or that makes me feel shitty to appease some dr. Good luck!

If it were me I would tell the guy to go fuck himself.. lol

Hah. My Subutex doctor gave me his email. I just send him emails and shit hes cool. I asked for Ambien and Restoril in them to. He gave me Vicodin when I was in w/d once. Very cool guy. I tried getting him to give me my Valium back that this detox facility took from me but he said basically I dont know your background and his exact words "I'll be your sub doctor, go to your other doctor for that". Fuck the Bupe tho mang. If you need it find someone else in the mean time you said yourself you need your Adderall. Think its time for you to go shop!

I dunno, my bupe DR is awesome. Open minded as hell, and always listens about my needs. Hell, any man who throws me 60 xanax a month to help with my transition is good in my book!\

Which is easier to find, bupe or the beautiful add-klon combo you are on? Tell yer bupe doc to kick rocks. I've been on 'tex for 2 years and I'm bored to tears...Like the other poster said, Bupe "docs" are a dime a dozen.

Thanks guys, you've been most helpful. If I were to look for a new bupe doctor would I dump him right in the middle of our 5 minute session and ask him for a list of other doctors who work with Suboxone? Would he have a list and if so would he still bother to taper me from my 4mg dose? Thats what I worry about, I don't know where to even begin looking for another doctor who treats addiction with Suboxone. I found this doctor because he also runs the Methadone clinic and I switched from one to the other via through him.

From your responses, it sounds like my doctor gets the biggest asshole award.

The suboxone website has a section where you can search and it will list doctors in your area.

Get your next script from him and then search for new dr's.. that way you won't run out and you have time to find a dr. You might even ask your psychiatrist about it if he is aware that you are on bupe, or after you get the script filled call the office and ask about other dr's. I also google dr's because people post reviews and shit like that.

My ex has been on suboxone for three years and her sub doc still prescribes her ambien for sleep and xanax for anxiety along with other anti-depressants and subs obviously.
His theory (she tells me) is that this it is safer for her to maintain on her prescribed meds than her relapsing back on heroin or taking 20 vicodin a day (which is how I got involved with her, we were both vicodin fiends, I managed to kick without a sub doc at the time but it looks like a sub doc may be in my near future seeing as how I went right back to opiates when we broke up. I may face the same issues as you considering I've been prescribed daily benzos for years and apparently have ADD too.)

Fuck that site.I called so many places using that site and got a no or a 3 week waiting list. My Sub doc is actually just a normal ass doctor. Go to random docs in your area and tell them your situation. Find the older ones as they are really the only ones that can give you anything worth your time. It took me 40 calls and 2 doctor visits to get help.

thats weird, my former suboxone doc used to give me an option of what benzo he would RX me for the maintence w/suboxone...he provided me with valium 10mg 3x day along w/ suboxone, but now he says i have to seek a psychiatrist for benzos now, IDK he kicked me out his program twice, now im back with him the 3rd time so maybe i got to earn his trust back, another suboxone doc i seen only will give me suboxone, but i lied and said i have a xanax addiction, so he weaned me off of xanax by .5 a week decrease of a 6mg day habit...

^They do those *theraputic* tests at my pain clinic... They test me for levels of oxycodone.. but not for anything else. I take what I am scripted most of the time sometimes less.. however sometimes I have leftovers... the dr has it on my script take every 4 hours or as needed. I would not take that much bupe into your next appt, I would just tell him you have it just in case your family stops paying for you to go to the dr.. you have enough to keep you clean for a while til you can get on your feet.... that to an addiction specialist should be understandable!

K'D Out: I'm surprised your bupe doctor has such a big problem with you taking Adderall for ADHD that's legitimately prescribed by a doctor. I had 3 Suboxone doctors over 3 years, and none cared at all about writing me prescriptions for my ADD meds. None asked for documentation that I had ADD, or even talked to the previous doctors that had been writing it for me. FWIW, I've never abused my Dexedrine anyways, and never had a problem with any stimulants. You should just find a new doctor that will be willing to Rx both your Suboxone and the Adderall, given my experience I doubt it would be hard to find one. That way you save money and time by not having to pay for 2 doctors, and you won't have to put up with this doctor. If the new dr. is reluctant, you could offer to come in for random pill counts of your prescription so he/she will know you aren't abusing your Adderall.

my sub doctor awhile back RXed me adderrall and until i found a psychiatrist so he gave me the benefit of doubt. he gave me xanax too, only .5 three times a day was his max, however he'd RX he 2mg klonopin if i wanted just had a prob wit xanax, gives 3 chances wit dirty urines. any MD can RX ANYTHIING they want but alot are assholess and say seek mental health i hate those foreign sub docs that are mean and strictly suboxone 2min visitt thats it

Damn it, I really do have the worst Bupe doctor!!!

Luckily my next appointment isn't for another month vs. week again. I'm going to have to resort to not taking my Adderall for 5 days and then take my drug test (I go to a lab whenever I wish) so it doesn't show up. I've been on amphetamine meds for a decade daily and now I'm going to have to go cold turkey for 5 days. On my calender I have a week crossed out so I can sleep, do nothing and withdrawal while I have my assistant run all my various weekly club AND rave documents/invoices. Here comes the flu so I can stay on buprenorphine...
