Benzos Any way to POTENTIATE Benzos? (Valim in Particular)

Enzyme inhibition isn't going to be very effective with diazepam.

First off, the bioavailability is already around 90%, so grapefruit juice won't be effective unless you drink massive amounts, in which case it will also inhibit hepatic 3a4(and 2D6 to a lesser extent, and I believe 1A2).

But even hepatic inhibition won't help much, unless you are taking large(er) doses. The problem is that at low doses diazepam's duration is irrespective of plasma level, as it is rapidly redistributed to muscle and adipose tissue.

I mean the half-life is already extremely long, yet the duration MUCH shorter, so slightly extending it won't do much.

And as Sekio said, you'd gain a tolerance to any "improvement", especially in this case.

(Of course freezing metabolism will ultimately increase drug effect(eventually), but you'd need serious inhibition, not just taking a few Tagamet.)

The ba is so good and your tolerance will build so fast, why fuck with it? I went from taking a Xanax Er and a couple of valiums a day to Xanax Er, 8 valiums, and bars so quick, like 2 months. This is also not a combo anyone should try just driving home the idea that maybe you shouldn't mess with if like sekio said.

Omeprazole increases the concentrations of diazepam in CNS. Should be taked one or two capsules of 20 mg. omeprazole twenty minutes before taking diazepam. Omeprazole so taken increases the levels of diazepam in plasma and extends its half-life up to 130%. Taking omeprazole 20 minutes before take diazepam increases the amounts of diazepam in CNS strengthening its effect and extending its half-life in 130%. Diazepam half-life is 48 hours (although it has active metabolites with a half-life until 200 hours) so with omeprazole the half-life of diazepam reaches more than 100 hours.

The above is a pharmacokinetic interaction but also exist the potentiation by accumulation of effects, taking hidroxizine, doxylamine, diphenhydramine, sedatives antipsychotics (as quetiapine and olanzapine), clonidine, tizanidine and / or cyclobenzaprine power the sedative effect of benzodiazepines by addition of the sedative effect. Can also be used plants as lettuce opium, hawthorn, valerian, passionflower and hops. Lettuce opium is a strong sedative halfway between poppy opium and valerian. You can take lettuce opium in 250 mg. oral doses or a combination of hawthorn, valerian, passionflower and hops (the best are the alcoholic extracts to take in drops)

^^^ omeprazole is a terrible choice for an inhibitor. First off, the doses needed for any significant inhibition would be insane. And omeprazole is a lot less benign than cimetidine. It has a potential for bad AE's at high doses. And finally, it's effect so long lasting that it can take DAYS for your stomach to fully regain it's ability to produce acid.

Really cimetidine is the only antacid drug(H2 antagonist or PPI) that should be used as an inhibitor.
As

A. It is by the most potent inhibitor of those two classes, and
B. it is fairly harmless to take in high doses.

And for me, it is the only one that ever worked. Though for oral drugs, WGJ(in large amounts) is almost always better.

If you're messing around with medications that increase the blood level of diazepam, it's functionally equivalent to just taking more. Expect to develop a tolerance to any "improvements" you might gain by potentiating them.
100% same for every freaking drug imo. Atleast with opiates. Now I’m not sure about combining it with other downers like opiods and or beer would cause requirement of more bzd / tolorance rise regardless?

For instance I was thinking okay if I take a Valium and a lyrica and or gabalentin am I preventing a rise in bzd tolorance? I have gone as far as switching between them At doses that don’t cause wd. Sometimes I’ll just take Valium 2-3 times a week max, and for other days I’ll take a soma or lyrica ect.

So white grapefruit juice? Will try today with Xanax and report back.

White grapefruit juice and/or tonic water should potentiate both valium & xanax. I've tried this myself one time with xanax and did notice a small difference in efficacy, so it does work IME. At least with alprazolam. =D
I don't know if "potentiate" is what happens.
When I take clona and want the effects to come a little faster, I drink orange juice before taking it. Works for me.
Then, when I was switched from alprazolam to the slower onset clona, I was prescribed a brand that actually had grapefruit taste instead of the usual minty clona taste.
