Alcohol Any substance besides cannabis that can ease the obsession to drink at night?

I've already written a heap of messages in the short time I've been here, but I wanted to ask one more question (related to most of my other posts). I've had a problem with alcohol for many years and was a nightly drinker, but lately I've reduced it to every third night by using a small amount of cannabis before the time I usually drink. I know this may not work for everyone but for me it works like magic. THC seems to turn off my obsessive craving to drink at night, and at a low dose, if I smoke just before my usual drinking time. Does anyone know of any other substance that can similarly reduce the desire to drink? I've tried the standard triad of disulfiram-naltrexone-acamprosate and found them totally ineffective (with the disulfiram, I just quit taking it and waited for it to wear off). I have ADHD and here in Australia most doctors refuse to prescribe stimulants if the patient is using ANY amount of cannabis, even medicinal cannabis. I don't want to go back to nightly drinking (or using 2-methyl-2-butanol, a substitute I've occasionally used) but I am going to have to stop the cannabis to be treated for ADHD. I've already wasted a ton of money on herbs, only to find them ineffective at the recommended doses. Kratom is illegal here too. I've tried kava but it can't be taken before 3 hours after eating and most varieties here are very weak. Any other ideas?
