Any (physiological) benefit to waiting three months rather than two?

We haven't lost the magic and usually wait three months between rolls.

It's commonly recommended here to wait a month or two between so that the serotonin is replenished and the receptors up-regulate.

So once this is done, is there really any benefit to waiting another month?

I can see how some would see a psychological benefit as it would make it more novel the longer you waited. But for me it has a negative psychological result as the wait is so long that I expect too much and get depressed that I have to wait such a long time again. It would be nice just to have fun and roll every couple months and not obsess about it so much.

So two months or three months; much difference physiologically?

There really is no "data" to suggest that 3 months is safer then two...personally, I think the longer the wait the better. Its just common sense.

What you ask is purely subjective and I highly doubt anyone here can properly tell you how your body behaves and reacts to certain things. Thats something that YOU should know personally for yourself..

My advice is to wait....what started as 3 months for you looks like its now moving to 2...then probably 1...

You dont want to end up like mastersplinter. That guy has fucked his brain and started on a path similar to yours.

Obviously its always better to wait longer, but the actual difference between waiting 2 and 3 months is probably small. You would be even better off if you waited 4 or more, but once again it would only result in a small difference. Due to the relatively slow rate that neurons take to up-regulate and/ or heal, cutting your break by a month from 3 to 2 would likely not make a noticeable difference as opposed to waiting only two weeks then cutting it to one, so you should be fine, especially if you always take time off between rolls. By the two month mark, most of the shorter term damage is reversed and any subsequent healing will be slow and drawn out, as your brain is very complex. You would probably just have a handful of receptors still downregulated and maybe just slightly less serotonin, but natural variations exist between users and nonusers anyway. Obviously you are a LOT better off than somebody who rolls every few days and drops a handful of beans every time.

I also agree that waiting an extended period of time can be counterproductive for some people exactly as you stated, as MDMA is a very psychologically attuned drug. I've found myself in just the same situation. However, its much worse to cut down your break too far and completely lose the ability to feel what you so anticipate for so long. I'd rather feel down about it and wait to roll again in a couple months than lose the magic altogether. So it would probably be good idea to take a longer break than normal every now and then just to be safer. If you do shorten your breaks, don't make it a habit, or they get shorter and shorter. I'm sure many people have done this.

My 3 month waits have been better than my two month waits- no data, just personal experience. The biggest dif in my experience is tolerance levels... You're likely "safe" at 2 months tho.

Yeah, I know it sounds like I'm trying to talk my way down to once a month, then once a week. But honestly I don't think I could handle or would desire more than every two months; just too intense.

We live a pretty healthy lifestyle--cardio several times a week, abstain from all drugs two weeks prior to roll (and only do small amounts of other drugs anyway and practically no alcohol).

I guess the only way to know is to try it, but I appreciate hearing everyone's experiences and thoughts. Keep 'em coming!

If you waited two months you would be fine.. I know how you feel I get obsessed about my next high sometimes, and I do it about 3 to 4 times a year. But as previously stated...
that stuff is powerful, and with great power comes great responsibility.
Take it in stride.. and like you said, if you do it less often the times you do will be incredible.

Going into it biologically and physiologically putting any kind of synthetic chemical or natural chemical into your body that alters you to such an extent you can feel it within a minimum amount of time (relatively) is going to do some kind of damage. Now our bodies are incredibly adaptable and that is why we can feel normal to this gigantic change in our system rather quickly. Also in a short period of time are bodies heal themselves of any damage. At the same time our bodies and neurons aren't made to be chemically altered and that is why, with some, one time can do permanent damage to your system. So the longer the wait the more time your body can heal itself to the damage that has occurred.
As we all know MDMA releases copious amounts of serotonin. Well it's the synapse between two neurons that transfer the signal of 'ecstasy'. The neuron which is receiving the signal has small neuron receptors which can only take so much. Because so much serotonin is being released the neuron receptors can't take it in all at once so the serotonin is just sitting in that little area between the neurons waiting to be 'received'. When MDMA gets abused the neuron and neuron receptor may 'shut down' so to speak and this is irreversible damage. When this 'overload' happens in large amounts of neurons at once, that is most likely when overdoses occur like with cocaine, heroin, ect. Of course there are a lot of other events that are going on but this is the main physiological event that occurs with MDMA, and all other drugs that give a euphoric feeling.

.... Sorry it's kinda long :\

trust me you can wait every othur week and u will be jus fine, I donno why every1 makes this such a big deal wen we can clearly make the decision ourselfs

Dude seriously? It takes MUCH longer then a single week for your brain to recalibrate itself. Stop offering advise that could potentially harm someone. This is a harm-REDUCTION site, not a "Take 20 pills a day, you'll be fine" site.

I think mastersplinter honestly has such bad brain damage that he thinks we are talking about the shortest amount of wait time you could do to feel ecstasy again. Listen you stupid retard, stop spouting out shit and fucking listen. We are talking about the difference of waiting 2 months instead of 3 months, because the longer you wait the better your brain is prepared for your next roll (receptors up regulating and more serotonin). So stop saying you can roll every week and you'll be fine, sure maybe you can still roll 50% as hard as if you waited longer, but you are fucking up your brain so much worse than the people who use moderately and responsibly.

I usually try to plan around shows/special events. I'm planning on rolling june 18th, july 15th(ish), and august 12th (and maybe august 15th instead of the 12th). I'll probably end up going to shows in between the rolls, but I'll most likely trip instead of rolling.

I like to wait until the moon is in the house of Aquarius and the daffodils are in bloom. Once, that's ready, I spend the next two weeks cleansing my body on ayahuasca and eat nothing but raisins (the white ones, not the darker ones). After that, I bathe in a fresh water artesian well and have my woman fan me dry with palm fronds grown by aboriginal midgets. After that, I do three rounds of hokey pokey, and sing the Oompa Loompa Song.

After all that is said and done, I drop a few pills...because if I'm thinking about planning out every little detail about my roll, it becomes a lot less fun, and at that point I *really* need to roll.

Hehe
