just started back with weights after many years off with kids growing up. I was always under the impression when young that when you got old (over 40)lol, that your body stopped growing etc. that i can tell you is a myth, if your mind is willing the worlds your oyster. The first few training sessions, i felt as weak as a kitten, and the effort made me feel sick, but that quickly went and i know feel like a 20 year old, with i feel even more determination to train as hard as possible. Im 44 and 230 ilb's, and 6.0. i use to powerlift 20 years ago and so only know one way to train and thats as heavy as possible, obviously with a good warm up. my diet has changed dramatically with all the procsessed crap out of the window and in with plenty of fresh veg, tuna, egg whites, chicken etc and i feel much healthier for it most notably my sleeps whih know seems to be alot deeper and less disturbed. Its almost embarrasing at my age to be looking in the mirror and after years to be seeing shaped calfs appearing and my legs are startin to shape,my upper body is startin to bulk although i still carry that elusive weight around my waist, i seem to have found the right balance straight off and am cutting up without losing muscle, infact seem to have definatley gained some muscle. The one thing i have noticed over the years is that the amount of youngsters these days who have obviously been on the gear is how cut they seem to be, as well as the obvious increase in bulk, but no water retention. My dabble of gear was short lived, a couple of ampules of test and i was getting a burning pump just walking 100 yards , but did bulk up very quickly, then tried some clenbuterol when it first came on the market but had more shakes than an alchoholic, so binned that and just trained and eat. My powerlifting pb at the time were 120kg bench (wrist injury hampered that lift) 210 squat and 230 deadlift, my weights were climbing well and then this woman came into my life and out went the training. i would love to have any helpful tips, advice etc off any in similar age group as myself, and dearly would love to see a little more of those abs of mine .any good stuff out there apart from all this fake crap about.
