Feelin fine on 40mg oxy and I realized my headphones were at max volume in both the master sound and winamp and I wish I could put it louder, what's with that, am I getting deaf finally after all those years of electric guitar playing, shows without ear plugs or it's just the oxycodone ?

when i first started with opiates a long time ago i would get decreased hearing, that was during the same stage as puking while smoking cigarettes and enjoying it lol.. it passed in like a month.

Yeah I kinda know what you're talking about. You're groovin ya know, so you're a bit fogged up in the head. My ears used to pop every single fucking day and night when I first switched from OC to Suboxone

Opioids can increase inner ear pressure when they're used, resulting in decreased hearing.

It's hopefully not permanent or cumulative, but that is really unknown. Google "hydrocodone and sensorineural hearing loss" and you should find a good journal article about it.

Glad to know, according to wiki (lol, i have a hard time believing everything there sometimes, but at least there's sources for this) it says -codones can cause gradual hearing loss when used for long periods of time.

this used to happen to me when i first started as well. it went away.

this topic comes up every once in a while- there is some evidence that opiates may cause some permanent hearing loss- i think the articles had to do w/ hydrocodone- also i think rush limbaugh attributes some hearing loss to his opiate abuse/dependence. anyway, i don't know if there's anything definitive on the subject, but i don't think it's a major problem in most users, and ime i haven't noticed anything permanent

honestly i still get the decreased hearing all the time. i used to get it alot more or when i would switch to a new opiate, like when i switched from vicodin to O.C. and from O.C. to H.

being dopiated makes things quiet and deep for me. when i come down its all ringing and high pitched
