Any Motivation Boosters/Improvers Available?

Try looking into Piracetam.

I find it helps me concentrate without giving a nasty speedy feeling. It's been around since the 70s and it seems to be relatively safe. Don't think it has FDA approval because as I understand no company in the US wants spend money on the tests to only have to sell Piracetam so cheaply. Talk about efficient markets...

Melatonin use post cannabis use helps out A LOT with the day after "burn out" feeling you get from smoking , especially from high grade weed.

Cannabis increases melatonin levels something like 3000% percent right after smoking. I would imagine that would lead to a decrease in melatonin levels afterwards. If I remember correctly , the study I read talked about loss of REM cycles during sleep with heavy cannabis use. I know I don't dream when I smoke a lot daily. Loss of REM sleep will impact how good of a rest you get, as it's the "rejuvenating" and healing sleep.

I know it works for me. It's also pretty silly to dose melatonin an hour before smoking . Shit gets pretty trippy and weird. Definitely a more intense high.

Try it out. Melatonin is cheap. Try to get sublingual melatonin if you can, and dose 3mgs, or with oral melatonin , I like 6 mgs. A lot gets destroyed from first pass metabolism.

Lemme know how it works for you.

Read "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand. That may motivate you ;).

Doubt it, it's more likely to make you go to sleep. I sometimes wonder how big Ayn Rand would be on her 'Ethical Egoism' if she was shipped off to a North Korean labour camp. I think it would her a new perspective on things. :)

Number one from my perspective would be to stop smoking pot.

Few notes on other posts:

"7-keto DHEA" does not aromatize, and it could possibly help you. Doses are often exaggerated, I'd recommend low dose + several weeks to evaluate.

Modafinil (Provigil, Modalert, Modiodal etc.) or it's active half sold as Armodafinil could help. Although they're controlled.

Adrafinil is a prodrug to the aforementioned, not controlled afaik. (possibly slightly more adverse effects like screwing with liver enzymes, headache or nausea. But generally safe in relevant doses, pretty low abuse potential too. Slower onset+come-up than Modafinil, which is one of the reasons it has lower abuse potential.)

Some DARI or antidepressant might work too, like bupropion or fluoxetine e.g. But I can't really recommend adding anything to pot.

But to each his own.

Good luck!

I'm not so bupropion would work. I thinknits been established that it's a pretty poor drug for treating chronic fatigue syndrome so therefore it could be said that it would be a poor motivation enhancer or whatever you want to call it.

What about DHEA? What exactly does this do and is it better than the B vitamins? I'd like to know since I'm getting off Bupe soon and will need something for motivation.

The effects of DHEA have been covered, roughly, in this thread. But I think it's worth mentioning that it lowers cortisol.

It's also important to distinguish "regular" DHEA from 7-keto DHEA, due to the possible aromatization mentioned.

It's not nearly interchangeable with the B-complex. But B-vitamins are way cheaper than 7-Keto DHEA, and I'm under the impression that their therapeutic index is much more favorable too.

So my conclusion is: B is safe and cheap, and possibly beneficial. If you feel you can afford 7-keto DHEA as well; titrate the dose carefully.

Very interesting. I find these modafinil-type drugs to be very promising. They seem to be a great improvement on caffeine but not as harsh as amphetamine-type drugs, which seems to be a great compromise IMO.

Me too. It's kind of a revolution. They truly are 'wakefulness promoters' rather than stimulants.

I haven't tried them, but have heard they have no recreational value. That doesn't mean they are not abused.

Yeah, I suppose you could call it abuse when people use them to stay awake for days on end. Also, they have a weak DARI effect.

But all in all very benign when you consider the therapeutic potential.

I don't think it's a good idea to equate fatigue with lack of motivation.

A wife and kids.

Adderall and stimulants in general if you'r already motivated enough to work out what you want for the day.

So about this Provigil, I remember wanting to get it until I realized that Adderall seems to be better for everything it claims to do. Is there any edge it has over conventional stimulants?
