Here's some more info. Aluminium is toxic like other metals and may be a contributing factor to many diseases and conditions. It is no more dangerous to occasionally smoke on foil than it is to drink from aluminium cans daily. We are exposed to AL every day of our lives. It is the the third most abundant metal on this planet. It is in your body right now. It is in our food, medicine, and the water we drink. It won't harm you to smoke it with foil when you have nothing better. Just keep it to a minimum.
It would take chronic exposure (small amounts, long period of time) to high levels of AL or acute exposure (large amount in a short period of time) to either cause death or injury to the CNS or sympathetic nervous system.
I don't see a direct link between AL and disease in humans. Just case studies and lab tests that indicate a link. It is in short, not known if AL can cause disease or specificaly Alzhiemers in humans.
My best advice is to consider what is known about AL and to make an informed decision as to it's risks and benefits.
