i guess we all have our own definition of what success is, so i wont dabble to much into that.

but say if you started using the drug at a relatively young age, which i know is frowned upon,

and you continued to do it for a number of years ,

did you have a breakdown and crash in your mid 20's and succumb to living a average life, or did the drugs have really no effect on you at all, and you went to live the life you wanted ?

i started using when i was 16 years old, i guess i fell into the wrong crowd, and the drug was a escape at a time, i averaged weekly or bi weekly for a awhile..

i continued to use until i was about 18, at which one i stopped, i am 22 now, and have averaged maybe once a year now..

i would be lying if i said i didn't suffer from any depression...

i plan on going to college next year, and i guess i just wanted to hear some stories from users about life after ecstasy.

I'm 20 years old and not living the life I wanted.
I wouldn't blame it on drugs as much as I was lazy and unmotivated before.
However I'm getting my life on track, have tons of money saved up and heading back to university.
I can't say for sure but I have been more likely to fall into depressive states after my month long daily use of MDMA.

you can't blame depression and what happens in your life on past drug use from years ago. Many people are depressed and have never touched X, In my opinion, your depression probably has little to do with X use.

My cousin used from 16 and went on to have a good career that yielded plenty of £.

My other cousin has done pretty well for himself too.

I don't think it's a drug that controls life anymore than you let it tbh.

You are absolutely right I did have depression before I touched my first pill, but sometimes I can't help but feels that a lot of time has been wasted under the influence, when I could of been doing more productive things, I mean I'm smarter then I was back then and I definitely still have my cognitive thinking intact , I guess I am just in a state of regret because I'm more responsible now. Well at least I'm not left with no addiction or worse flirted with death, I am more pessimistic now if anything.

Started when I was 16, am 21 now, just finished Uni with a 2:1 degree, about to walk into a decent paid job... On track for the career I want... Life is what you make it mate.

I did E for the first time when I was 19. I graduated college and law school with honors and have a good job now.

It is all about moderation and being responsible. Drugs don't make people pieces of shit, people do that on their own and blame the drugs.

I used and abused E for close to 10 years. Today I'm a well established 38 year old married guy in a great career with long-term employment at a great company. My spouse and I bring home a combined six figure income that has given us a good life and allowed us to buy real estate and live in one of the more desirable markets in our country. We are surrounded by family and a wonderful circle of friends who love us. 13 years ago when I emigrated to Canada from the US to seek a better life I had nothing but a beat up old used car and a few possessions in the back seat, but luck and destiny smiled on me. I am a lucky man.

There was a time that I was convinced that E had ruined me for life, but a couple years of abstinence and time took care of the bad effects of abusing E. For years I swore E would always be part of my life and that I could never party without it. I guess it's been so long that I can't really remember what E feels like, but I'm still into electronic dance music and have just as much fun now without E as I ever remember it being when I was using. :-)

Started at 16, did every week, most weeks Friday and Saturday night from that age til about 24/25 (probably averaging between 5 and 15 in a weekend), now it's only an every now and then thing but have had no lasting side effects.

10 years ago i though id messed up everything because of my massive abuse of mdma. my mental heath was so bad a stopped working or doing anything for over 7 years. i had been self medicating for existing psychological problems but obviously the mdma just made them much worse.

now i just graduated from university with a first class honours degree and the future looks pretty good.=D

So even if MDMA causes damage to brain cells.....................does it really impact on peoples cognitive abilities............No, I don't think it does.

Not really from e but started smoking weed at 16 on a daily basis dropped out of school at 17 started doing harder drugs at 18 became a crack head at 20 got kicked out of my house lost my job crashed my car spent every last dime I had, lost my gf was homeless for a good 3 months sleeping in abandoned cars and in the cemetery on the ground. Thank god it was summer at that time. I'd have to say i had pretty much hit rock bottom. Finally I said enough is enough went to rehab begged the owner of the company I had worked for for my job back got clean went and got my GED and 18 years later I'm doing all right in life. Married first kid coming in 6 weeks great job money in the bank hope to retire at 50 so its really what u make of your life. Drugs nearly destroyed my life. The bad drugs that is. I think if I had found e at 16-17 maybe my whole life would've been different because let's face it the ecsatsy crowd is a lot better then the crack head crowd lol. I could've been hooking up with hot ass rave girls instead of puffing of the glass pussy. Crack really is the worst drug around. Its never to late to turn your life around. Rock bottom isn't a pretty place to be!

I have only used MDMA four times total. I was more depressed before I ever touched it.. It sort of helped with how I interact socially, I am more confident and not afraid of new people, and I dont take things as seriously, I'm not afraid of being awkward. Because I know all I gotta do is be myself and be happy..

I can't say ecstasy itself ruins peoples careers or success in life. There's more to it than that

Started taking MDMA about 2 years ago. I feel like it helped me to open my mind and get out of the boring 'university drinking culture' which was destroying me. I now wish to pursue a masters in Neuroscience because of my interest in drugs and the brain. Hopefully, I can look back and say I started taking MDMA and still lead a successful life.

I started using MDMA 2 and a half years ago, when I first started using it, I was dropping about 2 pills once a week or every other week, that went on for about 6-8 months, then it disappeared from my area for about 6 months so I didn't take any at all. Then a little over a year ago I got hooked up with a pill and crystal importer, ended up selling 400 pills or a few ounces a week, depending on what was around, was going to raves every other week taking more than I ever had before. I ended up dropping out of school for a semester because I couldn't remember how to do anything the right way. After I realized that it was seriously affecting my memory in about October, I quit taking and selling completely up until about 3 months ago and I've been dropping about once a month since then though and its been great. I just went to MGMT last week and rolled, ended up hooking up with a hot ass girl, had the time of my life. I'm 20 years old, on my way to a chemistry degree again, have my own car, apartment, and a better job than most people my age still in school. Overall though, even though I had a few bad months with MDMA I feel that overall it changed my life for the better. I still remember the magic and utter beauty of everything during my first roll, and almost every after that. It has really helped me find who I am, and continue to see positives in things others can't, long after my roll is through.
Overall I would say that MDMA has more positive long term effects than negative.

although i do agree that people blame way to many mental issues on drug use this isnt 100% true. MDMA does mess with the serotonin levels in your brain which can cause short term depression. so if one was to use the drug regularly and for an extended period of time than yes it could lead to depression, or in this persons case make it worse. in my opinion if you have any mental health issues id be very cautious about what drugs you choose to experiment with. mental health issues can severely impact your career and overall life style but if you choose to handle it the right way you can still become an extremely successful individual. just make the responsible decisions concerning your education and mental health and id say that, that combined with hard work and you can go far in whatever field you choose.

I've never taken it and don't want to but a friend of mine took MDMA and some MDA in his 30s and is very successful but he only did it a total of 3-4 times at the most, only a few times a year if that or maybe once a year but he did not go crazy with capsules/pills or binge on it. This friend does not use any drugs at all now and does not even drink anymore.

I know other people who did take A LOT of MDMA regularly (think daily, or even just on weekends for a year or so) as teenagers or young adults and they did mess up their brain chemistry and had to go on high doses of SSRIs, developed ADD/ADHD, major panic/anxiety issues, and they were not like this before taking high doses of MDMA.

Indie rapper Tech N9ne binged on ecstasy and other drugs for approximately 2-3 years. One night he popped 15 "hits" (didn't specify dosage) of X. Claimed he almost died from dehydration. He also did acid, GHB, shrooms, and some others. He quit all of that for his kids and family. He's now co-owner of his own multi-million dollar record label, Strange Music, and a very speedy, technical rapper. So yeah, he's pretty successful now.
