Jesus Christ guys, I’ve always wondered why UK hasn’t just started growing it themselves. That’s what we did in the US. To be fair though outdoor growing is probably nearly impossible compared to here.

You’d think with the prices someone would be building an underground grow op somewhere.

Actually, the UK is flooded with underground grows - so much so that we reportedly export it now. But prices remain high because the demand is so high...
 
If the government really wanted to make a dent in the criminal gangs who use immigrant labour to run and take the rap for their highly profitable cannabis farms, all they need to do is allow every household to grow a small number of plants for personal use. Cannabis is never going to go away. So if they're not prepared to legalise and tax its use, decriminalising cultivation is the next best step. It's so fuckin simple it hurts...
 
How far along are you guys in regards to legalization? I’m surprised there’s so much yet costs so much still..

Around here they were practically giving the shit away for awhile but things have calmed down a bit since then now that the surplus is slowly dwindling.

I'm actually surprised I'm getting the best deal on weed out of you lot when I live in London. Probably helps he's a mate, but £25 for a Henry is pretty standard among my contacts in general. Does anyone actually still say "Henry"? Fuck it I like it.

We technically have medical cannabis here, but in order to actually get any you need to have one of a few specific conditions like severe epilepsy or MS, see a specialist willing to write a special script, then you have to pay as much as £3,500 to actually get your meds from the pharmacy each month, so in real terms there is not much access but the fact the law has been changed to accept that cannabis is a medicine is still progress as the various governments of both major parties had previously been denying that fact for decades.

I think it'll be a while until we get legalised rec, but cannabis based medical products will be approved and become more widely available on prescription within the next few years as a certainty as the process already exists for clinical trials to be run and products to be approved. In fact this is already under way:

I still say 'henry' because fuck it I like it too, but I'm guessing we're of a similar vintage Wilson Wilson. I'm in a rave related WhatsApp group and the youngsters keep asking for that 10/10 loud.

Apparently there are/were Amsterdam style coffee shops popping up in East London, with the old bill turning a blind eye, at least for a while. Not seen first hand.

Actually a youngin myself I just prefer the old lingo. I can't say "loud" without a heavy sense of irony.

I've actually heard the same rumours but not seen anything like that around. Then again no idea how bait they would be if they do exist.

Have family in Bristol who were members of a private 'cannabis club' in the city for over a year until the proprietor left to go 'farming' in Cali

The set-up was a massive basement, it had a bar, pool and table tennis tables, great soundsytem with decks etc, super-comfy places to sit, games consoles, board games, coffe and snacks, even a small library...and, crucially, the owner always had a great selection of genuine Cali import at reasonable prices.

So yeah, most definitely not rumours I'd imagine

I know for a fact the same sort of thing existed in Stockport 20 odd years ago, but they eventually got shut down. Cops generally can't be arsed with weed, unless they have to be.
 
I need to make friends with some of the right people by the sounds of it...

Police usually don't care about weed until they got nothing else to do and targets to hit, same old same old.
