Anyone into the Disco Biscuits?

Ive been into them since 97, 98.....just wanted to see if anyone else here enjoys there music, and live shows. If so how long have you been listening to them for?;)

/I used to go to shows like it was my fucking job... i mean starting back in 00 til 03 it was my thing...

then I realised tha they are horrible musicians and I Was just into it to hang out and do drugs..

I;ve been to TOO many shows

and MAgner treated my girl like a piee of shit one night EVEN AFTER she rove Barber to the hospital after he fell through the ceiling in PA

yo ones really? i gotta madly disagree on them being bad musicians. They are top notch when it comes to talent.....vocals wise yeah they aint got with the vocals....all outa tune and shit, but damn horrible musicians....not even close. Thats the one thing lately that i give the disco biscuits...theyre great musicians......i havent been to a show in years tho. Had alot of fucking stellar times rolling at their shows, and i even enjoyed bein sober at their shows cuz i enjoyed the music.......im talkin 98-2003. cant vouch for anything after that. Ones i probably seen you at a show or 2, shit we might have even hung out at a show back then

I used to go see them a lot in '06 when they'd just got their new drummer and were way into the techno jams. Starting about late '07 I noticed they either were starting to suck or I just didn't care much for it anymore, or both. I haven't gone to see them since, and I really don't know how there are so many rave reviews of their shows both by word of mouth and on archive.org. Plus the lot scene is probably the seediest one I've ever experienced, which is saying something.

I hear they're trying to take a more pop-oriented direction now? How can they do that if they can't even sing?

Their music is top notch, but Brownie is the biggest douche in music, no lie. I know people that went to school at Temple or Drexel and met them before and do you know what their reaction was when I asked about Bisco, "Those douchebags are still making music?" I caught eight shows this fall tour and that was enough for me (especially after those two horrendous Electric Factory shows). I saw them a few more times at the TLA shows and was again disappointed. Plus, Bisco shows are too damn expensive for me ($20-30 ticket, $60 on drugs, $5-10 on food, etc) I spent much less catching summer/fall Phish shows than this last Bisco fall tour.

we prolly did hang out t some shows back then... I used to hang out around lot non stop going from show to show... but their music just isnt what I was and am looking for.. no REAL ness... just trying to get by

sorry to rain on your parade ..... i do like I-man though and still play it out at bars

I love the disco biscuits but I am probably the only person in the world who loves the studio work much better. Senior Boombox is a great album, not just a great "jam-band" album. I am also this way about Phish....studio masterpieces like YEM/Divided Sky are what I would choose over a live version any day. I understand about improv(I'm a musician too) but I'm a sucker for studio work.

phish split open and melt is one of my very favorite@@@@@

i think that BOisc is having a hard time releasing studeio material bevuse that new drummer is not a stutio drummer

they are having ht eopposite effectes the bestles had,, without the fame

ps... bisco still sux

listen to some Jeff Beck Group to hear some real usic

Hey, u should check out the "Wats so bad about bisco kids" thread in this forum from a while ago :D

I had a friend that was mad into that shit...God bless the dead...You know, I dont like the music at all...He is the only reason I even know about them....except when I hear ppl mention them I still miss him...RIP yo, Silly ass music, that I dont even like but somehow I feel some kind of affection to it just becuz of him and the memories of him makin me want to smack him upside the head when we would sit in the middle of the hood in Paterson in his little old beat up hundai and sit waiting for his boy and he would play this disco bisciuts shit and I would want to jump out of the car and be like "See that crazy ass white boy? I AINT WITH HIM!" lol...

It is sad to me that so many of the folks who likes this band seems to be dopeheads, and some long term, reckless dope shootin repeat fuckup addicts at that.....RIP yo, miss u.

Sorry yall, for talkin all weak and shit about my boy, makes me feel stupid for gettin all soft like that but I just cant help it this thread really reminded me.. Shit aint even been a year I still catch these feelings sometimes.

^^I saw jeff beck last night in Houston :)

I missed gettin gitkcets in Poughkeepsie, ny by a few hours!!!!

I was supposed to see him a few times at fewstivals, but the festival ran out of money before they ould put anything on and they hever haooened

IWOWULD GIVE MY LEFT TESTICLE TO SEE HIM LIVE!!

especially back in the 70's

above the waves, goin under, above the waves, goin under, above the waaaaaaaaaaavvvvvvvvesssssssssss

take me too, as-tro-naut!

They're dope, the fill-in guitarist is coming through with some really phishy jams but I hope barber is back in full form in time for inferno.

I've never been a huge fan. I'd catch them live if they were close enough and friends were going but it's not a priority. Most of my favorite songs by them are studio... Highwire, Home Again, Vassillios.

I hear they're trying to take a more pop-oriented direction now? How can they do that if they can't even sing?

Auto-tuning. Just like all the mainstream rap these days. I thought You and I was a little catchy, but On Time just plain sucks. Bisco on MTV is something I never would have expected.

they obviously took tiem off to work woth the new drummer i the studio... to see if he ocould even cut it.... like hte reason Ringo Starr was brought into the bealtes

AND THEY TOOK VOICE LESSONS.... nlt that it helps much with all the cokaine they do

i was crazy for bisco from 99 to 03

i'm over them now though but i might go to a show once a year. i guess they still play a fun show but their sound use to be wicked hawt, i feel like they fell off alot.

fucking 5hr ragers and what not...

now that are just.... old and ot of it

Don't judge this band by "on time" or "you and I". If you've never seen them, wait until barber's wrist is healed and go see them. It's popular to hate on this band, but I strongly suggest that people see them live and develop their own opinion. When they're on, there really isn't many better concerts.
