To concur with T. Calderone, taper, taper, taper, taper. I can't stress this enough. It will be a long, slow taper given your rate and duration of use, but you'll get out of it eventually. Whatever you do, don't taper too fast or even entertain the thought of going cold turkey - benzo withdrawal can cause seizures or even be life threatening.

Good luck bro, BL is here for you if you need anything else.

^ Indeed, take your time to do it and seek for your doctor as much as you can/need for advices and assistance.
Benzodiazepines are hard to deal with when you are either coming off of them or changing to short or long acting ones.
Take your time and do it slowly. Be calm as you are being medicated it's just a phase.
With time you'll feel much better imo/e. Good luck
Erik

I definitely agree with the above posts. I was once heavily addicted to high doses of Ativan and with a VERY SLOW taper I was able to get off it with little discomfort. Slow is the key and a doctor who knows what they are doing. Good luck to you.
