Hi, I'm very new and I'm sure this question has been asked countless times but I need to reset myself. I've been taking Tramadol for pain for well over 2 years but in the last year I was also proscribed Oramorph. I started to enjoy the feelings even though they don't stop the pain so I took more, you know the story. Any way, I've now also started buying cocodamol too. It's got to the point where nothing works and I'm a fuzzy mess all the time so I need to cut it all out for a while. Any tips on asking this more bearable would be amazing.

Thanks in advance. I'm so glad I found you guys.

This should be asked in OD or BDD.

Welcome to Bluelight! :)

Try asking the nice folks in BDD (Basic Drug Discussion) about your problem.
They should be able to help.
Either that or a mod can move this thread there.

Since OP needs help getting off his meds, I moved this to SL instead.

Making a duplicate thread would be against the rules though :)

Great thanks.
Ah okay I see I figured since it was a intro that no harm would be done creating the question in another thread.
I'll keep that in mind bear with me:D

Hopefully the OP will be able to find their thread once the "moved thread" symbol in NMI goes away.

EDIT: on second thought.. imma PM them a link to their thread so they dont get lost.

Stop the tramadol first, It has SSRI properties that will make depression worse.... something you don't need while kicking morphine. Also tramadol w/d had HORRIFIC RLS.....IME alot of other opioids.

After stopping tramadol, slowly taper morphine.

^ How long would you say between stopping tramadol and starting tapering morphine?
I think a good few months at least. The wd from tramadol can suck badly because of its SNRI properties as you said.
So i think staying on the morphine whilst going through them would cover up a lot of the symptoms.
BUT theres no telling how long the tram wd will last for the OP so im guessing when i say a few months, may be too long, may be too short. We'll find out.
Good luck OP. Follow Steeley J's advice.

I believe morphine is the one thing you should stay away if you are concerned about w/d.
Trams are nothing compared to morphine.
But everyone is different. Try looking up in a scale of 10 and see where morphine is compared to trams.
Good luck!

Too late for them to stay away from either.. they want off them both.
I think you misread the OP's post.

I would taper off ultram rather rapidly while taking normal ms dose. After 5 6 days no ultram start slowly lowering morphine sulphate dose. If done slow enough coming off morph shouldn't be too bad.
