I started a thread in the Drak Side on this but haven't had much of a response, so will try here (with less focus on my problems). I'm thinking about going onto AD's but want to hear some experiences from people who have been on them.

- What AD's have you tried?
- Were they successful for you?
- What were some of th negatives and positives (either or, doesn't have to be both)
- How long were you on them and how long did it take for you to notice improvements or negative effects?
- Is there any AD's you'd recommend as a result of your experiences?

Don't feel obliged to answer all (or any!) of the above questions, any random thoughts you might have on the subject will be appreciated.

Oh, for the record, my symptoms are

- Depression
- Anxiety
- Paranoia
- Self esteem issues
- Suicidal thought patterns

- What AD's have you tried?
Celexa & Wellbutrin

- Were they successful for you?
Wellbutrin is.

- What were some of th negatives and positives (either or, doesn't have to be both)
Celexa - negative: put me in a manic episode, complete loss of sex drive, weight gain, and I just wasn't happy.
Wellbutrin - positive: smoking less cigarettes, weight stabilized, have sex drive back again.

- How long were you on them and how long did it take for you to notice improvements or negative effects?
Celexa - About 8 months. The negatives just snuck up on me. Or maybe I wasn't paying attention. I wasn't really doing well mentally during this period so I don't know. It did pull me out of a really bad depression but after I got almost ok it kinda got crappy...
Wellbutrin - About a year. Sex drive came back pretty quickly, and I don't have any problems with that now at all.. Feeling gross when trying to smoke a cigarette probably took 2 or 3 days. Good happy mood, a couple of days. Less eating, a couple of days.

- Is there any AD's you'd recommend as a result of your experiences?
I really like wellbutrin. A lot. I think it's best I stay away from SSRIs in general because they'll give me a manic episode without a mood stabilizer and I have no desire to go on another mood stabilizer. And wellbutrin has some great side effects imo.
