So is it ok to take anti-histamine for sleep after stimulant use. Will it help? Don't have any other sleep inducting meds. Thanks for the answers.

you should be fine with something like Nytol (diphenhydramine) doesn't do a great deal for me but you may get better results , better than nothing I guess.

Yes it will help. What's the name of the med?
Meclizine, it is mostly used as antiemetic remedy, but it causes same strong drowsiness as DPH do. Its the only OTC I can get. Doing some experiment with MPA, but it will make it very hard to get sleep, I hate so much staying up.

Tried also orphenadrine yesterday but didn't help, well it dosen't cause drowsiness anyway.

Meclizine doesn't cause drowsiness for a lot of people.

To answer your question, it is safe....and it works better for some people than it does for others. Don't expect to take most antihistamines during the peak of a stimulant experience and then be able to go to sleep, though.

Promethazine, diphenhydramine, doxylamine and the other first generation antihistamines are best for this purpose. Another drug that is very effective is Seroquel (which is technically an antipsychotic but it behaves more like an antihistamine at lower doses - the 25-100mg range).

Drowsiness is common side-effect for meclizine. For me it causes good sleep. Seroquel is good, but it is not OTC. Well I look today if meclizine helps, if not I think I need to drink few beers with it. I hope so.

I find a lot of these antihistamines dry me up when I take them, add that to stimulant use and you might want to make sure you are keeping up with fluids. They do work well though when you just want to crash on the comedown.

Well that meclizine didn't wark at all. With opioids it made me very drowsy and only with 50mg I fell to sleep, but now didnt work almost at all. meh..

I would never use anti-histamines for sleep after using a stimulant. There's no way it would be strong enough (and i'm not a regular user of benzos or hypnotics).

Hydroxyzine (ATARAX) but it is relatively weak, for some people it is a good option

Personally, I just imagine it to cause annoying side effects such as restless leg. I'm rx vyvanse and have tried to use bendryl in the past to sleep..it was very weird. I was sleepy but still stimulated I guess, and with me I notice that if I don't sleep right away on certain meds that cause drowsiness I experience RLS and its a pain in the ass.
But that's just my experience

Doxylamine Succinate is the strongest available OTC sleep aid here in the States. Use 12.5mg - 25mg with 500mcg Melatonin, shouldn't hurt.

Diphenhydramine sucks as a sleep aid, imo. It gives a terrible hangover and doesn't even work as well as Doxylamine.
