FORT COLLINS - Colorado State University police arrested a Ram Ride volunteer for DUI.

Ram Ride is the program that gives safe rides to students who've had too much to drink.

The volunteer behind the wheel Friday is charged with DUI, speeding, and possession of marijuana. There was another Ram Ride volunteer in the car at the time.

CSU told the college newspaper this is the first time a driver for the anti DUI program has been picked up for DUI.

Okay, okay. I actually went to this college, and have used this service as a safe ride home. The title of this article is a little misleading, IMO.

Caseface - you are right, it was a "Marijuana DUI". Although possessing small amounts of marijuana is legal in Colorado for adults 21 and over, this kid was only 19, and it is not legal to consume, and especially not to drive while intoxicated.

This article is also extremely vague, I have read another one which mentions he admitted to smoking when he got pulled over for going 39 in a 30 mph zone. He's a fucking moron for admitting it, especially since the article also states that he left the vehicle to smoke, then re-entered once he finished.

DUI is a pretty serious offense in Colorado, both for alcohol and drugs. I had a girlfriend who got pulled over while smoking a blunt (at this same university) and they threw the book at her.
 
^exactly. I had a friend and we got pulled over and he we just copped but we didn't get high for the previous 4 hours since I was in college for the afternoon but his car always smelled like weed.

Well we got pulled over and my buddy failed one of the tests(there hard to do sober much less when your nervous because you got bud in the car. Well they ended up getting him for poss. Marijuana, DUI (2nd offense),and unsafe lane change. Fucking 9 months of drug court along with more piss tests for the DUI program. Fuck that
