Does anyone have a first hand experience with taking 75mg efexorxr andayawaska, or another anti depresant with ayawaska

That's what I keep reading, but I have yet to find a documented case of seratonin syndrom from the two, also, is there any long term effects from seratonin syndrom? also the ayawaska experience is often described with the same symtoms as seratonin syndrom. forgive my pore spelling :)

I'd strongly advise against that. I can't dig up any first person reports at the moment but I've heard nothing but bad things and pharmacologically it spells out bad as well.

Also, the combination is Ayahuasca :)

Hopefully because people know it'll be a terrible idea. ;)

the diction ayawaska does also exist.

Didn't know that. Thanks.

SS is some serious stuff, from seizures to brain damage to death. It's definitely something to stay away from.

Honeslty; please don't go through with this. Wait until you are off the effexor for a while before you take Aya. It will be much more healthy for you and much deeper and rewarding.

again, this is a very dangerous idea.

even if you dont end up with serious side effects (DEATH!) a mild case of seratonin syndrome will totally fuck up your trip. imagine having a serious health concern in the midst of a mind blowing psychedelic trip... dont go through with this!

^ It's not in itself dangerous as far as I'm aware, however SSRI's generally dull the effects of 5-HT2A agonists. Dunno if this applies to smoking, and if so to what extent - I imagine you could still probably have a strong DMT trip.

Ayahuasca contains an MAOI, there are documented cases of adverse reactions from MAOI +SSRI in general - given the risks, that should be enough to dissuade you. Someone also made a good point in saying that the last thing you need whilst tripping on DMT, is to experience an adverse reaction.

I just quit 75mg Effexor. It was horrible. After like 2 months, it got to a point where I was taking 37.5mg once every 10 days, and even after that long, come the 9th day, I was still experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I had quit from 225mg a couple years before, and it wasn't even this bad. Also, like everyone else said don't take it with Ayahuasca. Even if it didn't react, you wouldn't want to be worrying about it during the experience.

Anyone know how long one should wait after quitting to take an MAOI? I've heard 1-2 months, but that was for all SSRIs. I know Effexor has a really short half-life, so I was wondering if it would be less time.

Good question, does the very short half life of effexor mean that it's effect is also short after quiting

^ I would hazard a guess and say yes, a fair bit shorter at that. Still best to leave a very decent amount of time before ingesting an MAOI just to be safe.

NO first person reports = bad sign. What happened to all the people who tried it? Whatever happened, they dont seem to be around to post about it. Dont do it.

yep, i'm thinking the "hu" spelling comes from spanish, since "w" doesn't really exist in espagnol.
