Hi!

I was looking around here every now and then to read. But now i've finally joined!

I'm from Austria. Have been addicted to heroin and morphine since 2003. For about 2 1/2 years on a methadone program.

Happy to be here :)

Welcome to Bluelight.

Yes i am!
But i'm not a part of any organized HR group though. I'm just generally interested in it. All i do is try to help others with my bit of harm reduction knowledge if it's needed. It helped me too, back when i was using IV. I made it through the time of injecting without getting HEP C or HIV, or even so much as an infection. Because of all the info i got and my local needle exchange. And maybe because i was a bit lucky...

^ Well, getting involved in Bluelight is a good way of contributing to the cause from you lounge room, stick around :)

Nice to have you mina! Glad to hear you are working through your recovery. Has methadone helped you win the war more successfully?

Thank you!

Yeah, it helped me a lot. I detoxed many times, but always started using again after a while. I just didn't find back to normal after a detox (psychologically & physically). Since i'm on methadone, i'm finally able to live my life again.

I'm really glad to hear that it's working so great. I've always been the kind of person that needed suboxone to quit methadone. As a general rule I enjoy all opiates/oids but methadone is just where it's at for me. I have been fortunate enough to keep my addiction in check for over a year and must say, it's very satisfying to do it without the continued dependence on other meds. Whatever works for you, my friend, is what you should stick with and I wish you the absolute best!
