I did some independent research with Immodium in order to combat heroin WDs. I have to say that it does in fact work, but you have to take about 20 Immodium tablets. However, they are small and easy to swallow. Theoretically, one could probably swallow about 20 at the same time.
In any case, I am on day 6 of not taking H and I feel pretty good right now. Usually, the worst part of WDs for me is the hot/cold flashes. That is the most unbearable part for me personally, but it seemed like Immodium helped to control that also (along with bowel movements obviously).
Overall, I just want to say from a person that is pretty well-versed in the world of drug use (especially opiates), I would not discount use of Immodium as an effective means of going through WDs. My WDs were relatively mild compared to what they would have been in my approximation without Immodium. I highly recommend it for anybody that is suffering the demons of WDs but does not have access to other comfort medications (such as Suboxone or Methadone, which I personally detest because it does nothing more than prolong the process).
