My aunt does dilaudids as well, and coldshakes them, and has had pain in her side for a week or two. I thought I read somewhere the trash from those can get caught in your lung. Is it true? And if this is the case how do you get it out? She is in pretty severe pain, and breathing has been slightly difficult. Thanks..

How is she doing them? IV'ing, or snorting? If she is snorting, there is more of a chance of respiratory complications. Sounds like ("coldshakes them") that she IV's them.
The only way to know what's going on is for her to be seen by her doctor, which is what I wouold recommend at this point.
If she has particles from snorting, unfortunately, there is no way to "get them out"...she would end up with an infection, and likely a resulting pneumonia, which would need to be treated with antibiotics....probably IV.
Suggest to her that she be seen by her doc...sooner rather than later...especially with the shortness of breath, she doesn't want to mess around with that!!!

best thing to recommend would be to use a micron filter. that'll remove the microcrystalline cellulose that tends to build up in the lungs after longterm use.

If she's only cold shaking dilaudids that have been on the market since the 90's, she could be in serious trouble. All that filler and inactive crap not being filtered out is probably hanging out in her lungs. She probably needs some medical attention if she's been doing that chronically for awhile now. I wish her the best...
