I don't know if you guys like background run downs on pieces you read, but I'll bust one out anyway so skip if you don't like that 
I wrote this as a self exercise, like one you might get in a writing class. I decided to try writing an ode of affection to a girl, but the spin is that I don't choose any certain girl first! I learned some things doing it, I wasn't over my ex haha XD Without even being aware of it, my stream of consciousness was putting in details about this girl. We recently got back together and I showed this to her, she got all teary eyed (D'AWWWWWW) Hope you guys like it
Anonymous Ode
There's a way she looked at me
That says 'I've seen you before'
But I know she hasn't
A look that hugs like a lover
And yawns like a chasm
Yeah she's hip to the listen and
Never held a needle
And someone taught her that 'honey'
Is the root of all evil
So she's not into pet names
Wont fix wilting with flowers
Only scared of cowards and
Her words drip like showers that
Make me shiver
Lives near a river that floods
But only in spring
I don't even know her name,
But hell
