all right, my friend has some pure mdma powder that he says was synthesized with anisette rather than safrole, thus making it more potent. anyone know anything about this??
i would have posted this in ecstasy discussion but i figured that i would get a better answer in here.

Sorry to say, but your friend is mistaken. You cannot make MDMA from "anisette"--which I take to either really be anethole (from anise seeds), or some wholly made-up compound name.
Anethole cannot be used to make MDMA. It does, however, make a mean batch of PMA--not that that's what your friend has.

MDMA can either be synthesized starting from safrole, or piperonal. There may be other ways of doing it, but those are far and away the most common pathways for the stuff.

You can distill Star Anise essential oil to get ANETHOLE, starting material for PMA!
And don't forget Eugenol, another precursor for molly that comes from cloves.

Yes, I have heard it too from reliable "internet sources" that one can make a killer batch of beans from anisette. However, you have to use the hard stuff like Romana Sambvca, or Pernod. If you're not, you're wasting your time....

It's not hard to tell if your friend crushed a pill and put it in a capsule. Pure MDMA powder has a different consistency than a crushed pill. It's more fluffy and softer on the nose when snorted. That's been my experience.
