Angry Anger Management Thread

Have you learned anything from counselor's or therapist's? If even just something small? Or something that you don't want?
 
I get angry when I have too much or too little stimuli. So I have to constantly balance that out. Which means I need a place I can retreat to when necessary. Both mentally (which was "destroyed" by certain meds) and physically, because some noises or smells or are simply too much for me.
But I can't live isolated from the world, like I had to for the past two or so years because there's only so much you can imagine or create without inspiration and without new stimuli, there's little inspiration.

I'm only now relearning to find that balance, and accepting that the right kind of meds can help, but most importantly is to recognize when something is becoming too much (or too little) and counteract so I don't get to the point where little and sometimes unavoidable things make me explode (and I do get violent sometimes)

I wouldn't say mental health professionals all suck. But it's very hard to find the ones that don't.

I think I understand this.

Inspiration is a nice way to put it. I'll reframe it as that.

It's something I've always been afraid of. And it took me some time and some bad experiences and some rewiring myself to feel that I've finally learned to trust myself to not let that happen.

What information, all that nonsense and bs, was just a way for my teacher to have a break from me. That 20 something female psychologist was clueless and I was not mentally ill, unlike 2 of the other kids stuck in there every Friday with me for an hour. I only learned that psychology is a scam.

It's not a big deal. Moreso, I'm interested in why a staff member might be so tin-eared to a newcomer's circumstance (?). I've moved out of my home due to struggles in expressing anger appropriately, and also due to my drug use. So, I've come to a forum like Bluelight in the hope I might find some support, and maybe some information (there's so much knowledge here!). Maybe even some identification with people who understand me. But what multiple staff members have done is just act like wallys. Posting drivel. Asking me smart-arsed questions. Im glad there every day Bluelight punters who take me seriously. Who seem to care about other members.

Well I apologize that's been your experience. If it's something that can be addressed, I'd be happy to, and, at least speaking for myself and other TDS mods... We're happy to be of support, so feel free to reach out at any time should you need someone to talk to.

Thanks deficiT. You've already been of help to me, and I appreciate that. I wasn't meaning to taint all staff members.
 
you did not sound like disrespecting. we are here to learn. give critics and point out mistakes if there is one. Moderators should be under tight scrutiny just like any other people of power.

Sure - in general threads like this, it's not always a perfect single-file line of posts. On this forum people are pretty good about reading and addressing most posts. You got several replies, and I too am in a sort of emotional crisis that I wanted to express.

This is a general thread that does not belong to solely you so I encourage you to create your own.

Sorry to hear about your emotional crisis Madness. Where exactly did you express it? When you proclaimed that I might have 'issues' around being heard? Or when you asked about me being too young to absorb information? Where exactly is any reference to you having an emotional crisis that you needed to express Madness? And regarding your suggestion I get off this general thread, I will. If you are what moderator staff are like here, I shall gladly leave. All I was hoping to do was to be able to ignore you anyway.

I am sorry for what you are going through. I had no idea of the issues going on in your life. I may not be a mod but as a member of the Bluelight Community, I feel that I should be more sensitive to others who are having issues. I see a picture, and it seems that you look happy. There should be more concern for others on here and I had no idea of your troubles. I may not be the one you are mad at, but I should be more considerate and understanding.
