Angel's Trumpet (or so I think)

one of my friends told me about this plant drug, she said that you could eat a certain part of it and it will cause super realistic hallucinations, she said when she did it, she thought aliens were trying to abduct her and she caled her mom.

I thought that sounded funny as fuck, so I of course wanted to try it, along with 2 other guy friends that were there.
She told us there was actually one of the plants right down the street, called Angel's Trumpet, she went on describing the plant, and then 2 of my guy friends went down and got some of the plant's flowers. Then she told us there was a certain part you're supposed to eat, and she started taking them apart, eventually we ended up eating these little green slivers inside the flower of the plant. They had no affect. I thought she was just bullshitting us into eating some plant, so I went home and did some research. Turns out the plant does actually make you trip out, hallucinate, and all this other stuff.

So basically, the plant we have on our main road is like a vine on this dude's arch in his yard. I googled some pictures and it looks as if they come in purple, red, yellow, white, and whiteish pink.

The one on our main road is white where the flower starts and turns pink towards the tip.

I'm wondering if this is actually an Angel's trumpet, or just some Angel's Trumpet look alike.

Also, on the Google pictures, they always hang down, but on this vine they don't all hang down like that, and they're more separated.

I'd also like to know how to administer this plant.
I read you can boil something like 15 leaves and 2 of the flowers in a pot and then drink it.
I've also read you can take the flower and eat it.
I've even read you can just take a single leaf and eat it and you'll trip hard.

but, what I WANT to do is just eat the leaves, if that's possible.

I've basically read a lot of different things on the plant, and I'm just trying to get my facts straight.

I want to know:
How to administer.
How long it will last.
Dosage. (how many leaves should I eat, or how many flowers should I eat, or how much of both, assuming I even can) (I am 6'2 and weigh 140 pounds.)
A brief go-over of what to expect.

ALSO, I know that this plant is dangerous, please DO NOT respond with something other than what I ask, basically, don't respond telling me not to do it, or why I shouldn't do it, because trust me, I've read it all before when researching the plant.

PS: If I'm breaking any rules, or if this post is not where it should be, please let me know, I'm new to this site. Thanks for any help (:

I'm planning on doing it in about 8 or so hours. It's 4 in the morning, I've slept all day yesterday so I'll be able to stay up when my parents leave, and throughout the whole day.

All the answers, right here: http://www.erowid.org/plants/datura/datura.shtml

I love this little warning Erowid puts out on its Solanaceae page:

As a general rule, Erowid neither recommends nor discourages the use of any psychoactive, however, in the case of tropane alkaloid-containing Solanaceae plants, we think it is important to note that an overwhelming majority of those who describe to us their use of Datura (and to a lesser extent, Belladonna, Brugmansia and Brunfelsia) find their experiences extremely mentally and physically unpleasant and not infrequently physically dangerous.

There is no way to guess a reasonable dose, because potency of the plant material itself and appropriate dose for an individual appear to vary so much. The question of what "reasonable" means for something that so often leads to such ridiculously negative effects is hard to say.

As an admixture plant in some traditional ayahuasca brews, smoking blends, or other preparations, parts of these plants are generally used in very low doses. Because of the serious adverse consequences associated with tropane alkaloids (scopolamine, atropine, hyoscyamine) intoxication and the wide variation in doses used, we are unwilling to even speculate about specific dosages for the leaves, flowers, and seeds of these plants.

If you are considering ingesting Datura-group plants, please read extensively from the collected experience reports and never take them without a reliable, sober sitter who understands the likely health issues and who can stop you from walking in front of traffic. Please note that fatalities from ingesting Datura do occur and hospitalizations seem to be quite common, in spite of the relatively low rates of psychoactive use of these plants.

Seriously dude... this is a terrible idea

I understand, every bad trip I've read about these have all been from eating like 5+ flowers, or like 10+ leaves, I plan on eating 1, 5 inch leaf that I have in my hand right now.

But since the concentration of active ingredients varies so much you still could end up delirious.
Life is indeed too short to recklessly experiment with nightshades. Classic Psychedelics are so much more pleasurable and relatively (physically) harmless.
Or just get some weed.

Seriously, I highly advise against this.

Angel's Trumpet is a fitting name. Mess with it and you're calling the angels down to take your soul.

Seriously why in this age would anyone fuck with that stuff? Go get some morning glory seeds - hell if you want to be delirious, eat a bunch of benedryl - you'll have "real" hallucinations and acetylcholine side effects without the extremely high probability of life threatening side effects. Diphenhydramine is much safer in overdose...

Delirium is not fun. Just do dph if you need to try a deliriant, datura is hard to dose and you'll end up overdosing and become psychotic for days.

Well I took one leaf about 5 inches long, then another leaf about 8 or 9 inches long, boiled them in water for about 30 minutes, put it in the freezer to cool off for about 15, then poured myself little over half a solo cups worth of it, then mixed it some french vanilla cappuccino mix, and just now drank it all down. I'm not sure if I used enough leaves, so I'll just have to wait and see. I have my girlfriend trip sitting for me, so I'm not going to do anything stupid, and if I get out of hand, she'll put me to bed. I understand how bad this supposedly is, but tons of people do salvia and the trips sound 100x worse, I've read shit like the universe breaking down, and falling into endless tunnels, being trapped in a 2d parallel universe for what seemed like years on end, but all I've read about this stuff is some crazy real hallucinations, smoking of phantom cigarettes, and some hospitalizations at very high doses, something like 5x what I just took.

Again, I understand that you all think down on this, but what I'm looking for is a crazy trip, some crazy real hallucinations, and a funny story to tell to y friends.
I'm not retarded. I'll start at a low dose and move up in dosage until I'm satisfied with the trip I'm getting.

inb4 op dies, gets arrested, or thrown in hospital/psychward

Can't say we didn't warn ya...

and DickTate, I'd love to try classic psychedelics, such as LSD or Shrooms, I unfortunately don't have access to those drugs around where I live, the only thing around here is weed and K2, both of which I don't really like. If I was 21 I'd buy alcohol and settle for that but unfortunately I can't.

I'm not quite sure why everyone is getting so worried, and seems to hate this plant. Only time people go insane is when they don't read up beforehand and end up taking 10x what they should have, and trip out WAY too hard, and way too long.
I'll be keeping posting on this the effects as they happen. So far, nothing. How long is it supposed to take to kick in? I don't want to drink ore unless I'm sure it hasn't and won't affect me.

Exprimenting with datura because it's the only thing you have access to is dumb, dumb, dumb. More than 95% of people who do dature, I would hazard a guess, don't like the experience. A large portion of young people who do datura expecting to have a "crazy trip with insane visuals" end up injured, making a fool of themselves, or sometimes in jail/hospital. The people who find it enjoyable and wish to repeat it are in the minority.

The real problem is, you can't predict how much plant material will induce hallucinations. Because everyone responds to drugs differently, and plants generally have variable levels of the active substance in them, just because 5 leaves worked once doesn't mean it will be safe the next time.

If you are adamant on doing this, remember: the intoxication will last several days. Your pupils will be blown out to saucers and you will be flushed and confused. It will be immediately obvious to anyone you're on a wierd drug. Datura is just not a "trivial" drug, it's one of the major hard hitters. Salvia is more tolerable, because it's over in 15 minutes. The experience from datura lasts forever.

The best way to dose datura is by making a tea and slowly consuming small portions of it over many hours until you read the state you want to be in. The intoxication can take several hours to develop, so be patient. If you overdo it you can end up seriously messed up, and in the hospital with a catheter, unable to pee, face red as a beet, talking to imaginary people and smoking imaginary cigarettes.

Datura and young people. Don't. Mix. Read the Erowid experience vaults.

*sigh*

Why do kids bother posting here when they are just going to do whatever they want to anyway?

This is a harm reduction forum...

That's not the only reason, I'm experimenting with Brugmansia because I'd like to see what effects it has, experience them first hand. Good or bad trip, doesn't matter to me. I'm looking to try all or at least a lot of drugs at least once, and Brugmansia is something I have easy access to. It's been about 3 hours since I drank the last cup so I'm going to assume it didn't affect me. I'm making more now. This time with about 4-7 leaves, some big some small. I'm going to drink 3/4ths a cup and wait an hour to see if it affects me, which it probably will.

Definitely not bind weed, looks almost exactly like angel trumpet. I just don't understand why it's not affecting me. I just had 2 cups of the new batch, within 20 minutes of eachother an it's been about 30 minutes since the first cup. Fuck.

you not even reading the thread? Someone just a few posts up told you it takes a few hours to develop.
I swear the majority of people who do this drug are just dumb kids
