The lines marking yardage may as well be discarded irrigation ditches for a field of inorganic statues. Oral syringe refuses to offer the risk the coach demands, and nose has been on the bench rehabilitating for months. It looks like needle fever is the definitive play!

How long can this player last is the question on everyone's mind tonight. The welts and bruises speak for themselves, and it is hard to argue that those red lumps are hiding something potentially game changing. But the coach keeps throwing needle in, and for the short term it seems to be working.

But sustainability is what defines solid careers in this sport. All we can do is watch.
