Ancient Aliens. Yes? no? maybe?. Im sitting between maybe and yes

So, Im sure you have heard of this theory but if you haven't its basically stating this: Thousands of years ago, dating back to the earliest civilizations of man, there was intervention from aliens who visited this planet. Why they came? a popular theory is that they did so to mine gold. Along with this, its been proposed that these aliens created human-alien hybrids, tampered with human DNA, essentially creating the beginning of modern man.

Furthermore, it is proposed aliens gave early man technology and otherworldly techniques for working with stone. Some of which, modern engineers can not explain how it would be possible, or at most very difficult to do even with today's technology. For instance temples carved out of solid bedrock, displaying perfect angles and cuts that would be impossible to do by hand, and even extremely difficult with modern day techniques. Even what can be described as drill markings, in a criss-cross type of pattern have been found, leading one to believe these ancient people were not just using a chisel and hammer.

Ancient Sumerian texts speak of a race called the Anunnaki, who were inhabitants of a planet called Nibiru, and came to earth in order to mine gold. It is written that the Anunnaki genetically engineered workers for mining, and after some trial and error ended up with homo-sapiens.

Ancient Hindu epics speak of flying machines called Vimanas in which the "gods" used for transportation in and out of the heavens. For this purpose, of course gods were actually aliens, who they interpreted to be gods (and understandably so) This is a pasage from the Sanskrit Samarangana Sutradhara (translates, "controller of the battlefield":

"Strong and durable must the body of the Vimana be made, like a great flying bird of light material. Inside one must put the mercury engine with its iron heating apparatus underneath. By means of the power latent in the mercury which sets the driving whirlwind in motion, a man sitting inside may travel a great distance in the sky. The movements of the Vimana are such that it can vertically ascend, vertically descend, move slanting forwards and backwards. With the help of the machines human beings can fly in the air and heavenly beings can come down to earth."

Some literature seems to depict that of alien dogfights in the sky, ships shooting each other down and such. Pretty spooky stuff to be seing that in works thousands of years old.

Vitrified remains have been uncovered all over the world, as well as radio-active skeletons, which points to some sort of nuclear activity. Vitrification is when a substance, such as sand or stone turns molten essentially and is converted in to a glass like substance under the enormous heat and aggression of a nuclear blast.

There exist in Peru, what is known as the Nazca lines (spelling?) which are carvings in the earth that can ONLY be seen from high above. AND, its said that the accuracy and precision of these drawings could only have been done w/ some sort of aerial vantage point for aid. But forget the how, I think more important is the why. Why would an ancient civilization make symbols and artwork on such a large scale that can only be seen from high above? It's said that they served as reference points for these alien visitors, so that when they returned they would know where to go. They were seen as gods, and the people went to extraordinary lenghts in attempts to please them.

So anyway... A few examples listed here touching on this ancient alien or ancient astronaut theory. What do you think? Look in to it a bit, read some of these guys ideas, such as Giorgio Tsoukalos or Erich Von Daniken. Its pretty fascinating stuff, keeping an open mind, and not dismissing it as crazy talk.

P.S, its not just these enthusiasts who talk about this kind of stuff. Modern science does acknowledge that it is prudentin to think that in all of history, in all of the universe, we're the only advanced race. Credible people have stated that it is absolutely possible that sometime during the course of earth's existence, a civilization thousands of years superior could have found earth.

I think that it's a silly hypothesis, but do of course acknowledge that the likelihood that we're the only intelligent life in the universe is incredibly unlikely. Why people assume that ancient civilizations would not be capable of such things on their own really discredits human ingenuity. The Nazca lines for example: it would only take the most basic rudiments of geometry to figure out what such things would look like from above. Perhaps they were forms of art? Perhaps they were tributes to sky god(s); the Abrahamic faiths believe that their deity lives in the sky, so why not the ancient Peruvians?

I'm not saying that it's impossible that aliens may have visited us at some point, but rather that human-centred explanations are far more plausible and likely.

yeah you make a good point there actually, for example, there was a female scientist ( I forget her name) but she spent years developing materials for what we now use for flack jackets and b.p vests. I think she invented kevlar, not totally sure about that though. Anyway the point is, people like her and those in that scientific community feel disrespected that people say we simply reversed engineered that 70-80's tech from the roswell crash. That being said, some of the things that have been found are hard to explain away, for example, I forget exactly where but one civilization had giant megaliths, weighing 1000 tons, which they transported over half a mile and placed up on top of a 25+ ft perch. Now, today the record for greatest weight lifted by a mobile land crane is 1000 tons. These guys moved 3, along with plenty of other figures weighing 500 tons or more. Arhaelogists have actually tried to re-create how they would have done this, using techniques such as wooden rollers. They were not able to even come close w/o using some sort of machinery and even than it prooved quite difficult. Legend and texts expalin that statues "walked" to their final place of show, as so say they were levitated by e.t's? These people were extremely clear in stating they worshipped star people, or those ascending and descending from the sky. Its not so far fetched when you think about it that thousands of years ago aliens may have visited this planet and given a helping hand?

But yes, i do agree that saying all the technological advances we have made over the last 20-30 years is due to reverse engineering or something like that is easily explained away, as we can see original research and such. Although all the post war tech is intereresting, Hitler was fascinated, some say obsessed with finding alien technology. I believe he spent enormous resources trying to find the arc of the covenant, as legend tells of its awesome power. Some suggesting that it was actually a weapon or power source given by the gods. (aliens). The stories show that anyone who got close to the box would fall ill, loose there hair and nails and eventually die.... Sounds a lot like radiation poisoning....

Just because we don't know how they did it doesn't mean that they didn't do it. :)

The way I think of such mysteries is thus: it only takes one break in the chain for information to be lost. In pre-technological times, if all speakers of French (for example) were to disappear for a generation, that's it, the language is lost. Ditto technologies. People also tend to underestimate the brute force that was available. Sure, they may not have had the technology, but when ALL of the wealth goes to the priesthood/chief, they can get shit done. Just hire 2000 people to lift that megalith. Wooden rollers are cool, but if all you have are a few dozen grad students, then you're just not going to have the horsepower, you know? If the high priest says that the only way the gods will allow the crops to grow is by building this monument, then come hell, high water and anything else it will get built. Scientists still aren't sure how the ancient Easter Islanders got the 300 tonne stone hats on the more 'recent' statues, but they got there.

I'm a sceptic, man. It is actually very far fetched. If the aliens came, why did they leave? If we worshipped them, they could have lived here as gods. It just doesn't jive to me is all. Oh, and Hitler was certifiably batshit insane once he got into power. A steady diet of amphetamine and sycophants ensured that.

I was just pondering, and thought of a possible way of getting something very heavy onto a high perch. Just build the earth up around it. Set the perch up, get it secure into the ground, and then pile tons upon tons of rocks around it, to the point where just the very top of the perch is exposed, and a nice, smooth slope is available. Roll/carry the stone to the top, get it secure, and start digging under. Since it's balanced as though on a fulcrum, any adjustments to the stone's position can be made relatively easily, until it is secure. Once it's set, remove the rest of the backfill, and you're set. All you need are a lot of workers to move the rock.

We're talkin about megalith structures weighing in excess of 1000 tons here such as in Baalbek. Modern mobile cranes today struggle to be able to lift such a weight. From my research, there are very few cranes that can lift and move that amount of weight. The heaviest weight able to be lifted by a mobile cranes today is 2000 tons, however they are not able to move the objects; just lift them. Modern engineering techniques include alternatives to using cranes, this being a system of hydraulic trailers, and even than it would be necessary to cut out pathways in the earth for the series of trailers to drag along its load. By today's standards it would be a large undertaking.

As for the Nazca lines, sure its not so far fetched that these ancient peoples found a way to draw elaborate geometric figures and animal depictions in the ground. The big question or perhaps mystery is why. Why would they go through such great efforts to create something that cannot be distinguished from the ground level. The figures can only be seen at high altitudes of several hundred feet. For what reason would these people feel the need to have somethin that needed to be observed from the sky. Archaeologists scratch their heads for the why they were made. Are they alignments of the stars? religious reaoning? Modern day exports cannot agree on a reason.

The people who live in the area today strongly believe that the lines were created by "the Creator God" or Viracocha. The lines may represent a spritual ceremony practice geared at thanking the gods and ask for assistance in their crops and such. Reminder, many believe that "god" is synonymous with alien, as throughout the world ancient texts describe theigods as powerful beings capable of ascending / descending from the heavens. Some compelling examples describe biirds who appeared to be comprised of a shiny metallic skin, capable of shotting fire and such like that. To me, this would have been the only way an ancient human could describe an advanced ship. Their only point of reference to compare to, in order to document what they had seen would have to be another flying thing such as a bird, but given these strange characteristics.

Everyones going to feel a certain way about this, but all i can say is that from the facts I have learned, some are unexplainable. others seem impossible yet many can be easily explained way. Scientists have gone on to say that the possibility of earth having been visited sometime in the past. Over the multitude of years earth has been around, is probable. After all, who can honestly say that no group of people, who's society is much more older and more experienced

Even today the Hopi indians and many others across the world still reserve tradition about the star people who visisted their ancient relatives.Physical beings who descended from the stars. At the time, they were interpreted as gods, as they were a seemingly all knowing and super advanced bunch that could not be comprehended. In that mind set, logic points to the conclusion that they must be godly beings
