stepping lightly in you come
humming sweetly your favorite hum
the worried air so often tense
quickly clears, no longer glum

but from me no joy shall spring
cheer no longer can you bring
upon your touch I once would shiver
to you tightly I used to cling

those times, alas, they're now long gone
for years alone I've faced the dawn
for hidden behind your empty charm
lies a liar, the devil's pawn

now at your face I can but stare
blank of meaning, stripped of care
my eyes once bright with distant dreams
look dead now—no happy flicker lingers there

yet in you walk, blissful still
a smile to mask your words which kill
in you I found the worst of women
who takes from others but offers nil

"those times alas, they're now long gone, for years alone I've faced the dawn, for hidden behind your empty charm lies a liar, the devils pawn." < I'm especialy feeling this part.
