When I want to feel the heartbeat of the soul...
When I looked into their eyes and saw my life
Flash before my own...where they were there
Smiling and supporting?

Can it really traumatize when there's no pain involved?
When the only tears are my own from separation?
The very thought of them looking across the bench
Drains all my cortisol into adrenaline to protect...
When their fleeting embrace has me melting in their arms?

Are there really consequences when the end result is love?
Are there reasons to fear when they don't fear me?
When the entire world carves its weights into my soulders
And she's the only one that can hold me up?
Am I the only demon with loves and tears,
with their fears allayed only by my Guardian Angel?
