I've done amyl nitrate quite a few times, and i loved the effects when i was rolling,
but haven't done it for a while now, as i've learnt that it can be pretty bad for you -
but at the time i didn't actually know what it did to you or how bad it was for you, so i ended up sniffing the shit about 5 times that night and ended up with a pretty bad headache for the rest of the night.
Anyway I decided to go and look for some info on the dangers and long term effects it can have on you - it's obvious it kills a lot of brain cells, and i've also heard it can deform your genes and dilute blood vessels in the penis, and the only positive thing i've heard about this drug is that it was used as an antidote for cyanide poisoning! Not to mention the mad fuzzy feelings you get when you're peaking - can anybody tell me any more bad shit this drug does to you, and whether or not using it in moderation is OK.

What do you mean by "its obvious it kills a lot of brain cells" ?? you can't TELL when your brain cells are dying. killing brain cells is a lot of hype, the pharmacology of drugs is a whole hell of a lot more complicated than killing fucking brain cells
 
OK firstly wise ass, I was asking a question as to whether anybody knew if there were more dangers involved with taking amyl I wasn't asking for a smart ass comment from some "know all."
If you have nothing constructive to say to help me out here, why don't you fuck off and keep your useless opinions to yourself.
This forum is to help people understand the drugs they use, so when somebody asks a question, instead of being a complete arrogant wanker, try and help next time =)

I am not sure of the dangers associated with sniffing amyl. I know it relaxes my muscles so much I need to go do number 2's.

Let's look at it this way. Everything we do, in excess, is going to be dangerous. If you cross the road 100 times a day, it is more dangerous than crossing it once a day. So Personally, I think if we all take things easy and in moderation, we shall all be OK. But that didn't really answer your question id it? sorry...........

This is just a thought, but maybe you should have looked up the side effects of before you railed it. Again, it's just a thought.

Well aren't you all comedians, when I signed up for bluelight, it was so i could gain knowledge on the shit i didn't know about, or what i couldn't find enough info about - not to put up with wanky comments from assholes that think they're top shit who think correcting people's spelling mistakes is a really funny thing...
What the hell is everyone's problem these days, are you all so fucked up in the head you have to be sarcastic immature fags and give everybody who asks a simple question a load of your bullshit?
As for the killing brain cells, with the amount of drugs i've done in my life time, I'm not damn worried about killing brain cells, i just put that comment in there as a general statement that sniffing something like amyl, can't be good for your head.

We are here to help each other, But also we shouldnt take life so seriously. Some may help you with a serious answer, some may help with a laugh or a joke (usually what I do) And yes some are just wankers who think they are top shit and correct spelling miiistaykes()*&@!!

For everybody's information i checked on erwoid and read up on amyl, but they didn't give me the answers i wanted, so silly me decided to raise the question in bluelight in hope for some more useful information. Thank you to those who answered me as best as you could..
Most of you are just living proof of the amount of sad people out there, you can't even answer a simple question without getting on your high horse and picking at every little thing i say - i turn the argument around and say it's you people with worse issues than me if you can't treat someone with a little bit of respect and friendliness. If i'm not mistaken you all brought the negativity into this post and not me.
Anyway - this is straying too far away from the topic i have no more time for you people.

Now, since I didn't see anyone post this in response to your question...
One of the chief dangers of nitrites is a sudden risk of aneurism (sp)...meaning a blood vessel in your brain bursts and you die within seconds. I don't believe this is all that common but it is a possibility and it is really the only one I'd be concerned with unless I was sniffing the shit every day. Furthermore, NEVER sniff nitrites after having taken viagra...the combination can be lethal!
One last item...it is amyl NITRITE not amyl NITRATE.
 
I think I read somewhere back that Nitrate use is linked to a depletion of T-cells... which will make you more likely to catch HIV while you're barebacking it in the Gay Bar Bathroom.

Anyways, I'm fairly sure that english isn't suicide's first language, which would explain his grammar issues
anyway, all I known of amyls is what I read in "Fear and Loathing" in las vega's, which isn't much. But I'll certainly keep that anuerism thing in mind if I'm ever offered the stuff

Ok...since English is not my first language, this is maybe a kind-a fucked up post, but I'll try to write down what I know about the side-effects of amyl nitrate:
Because of the sudden blood pressure decreasing-effect, healthy people may experience extreme headaches, a blurry view (because of the pressure behind the eye-balls), dizzyness and black-outs. For those people who've got a weak hart, amyl nitrate can be quite dangerous and result in coma/death...
Longterm use has a negative effect on the imune-system and can result in anaemia (propably did not write that correct).
And...amyl nitrate is highly flammable, so watch out with sigarettes and shit...don't drink the stuff either, you will die!
