So many people have no leeway in their lives for such things.
I was in a park in Amsterdam and two guys approached. One had a vial of "coke", and they were both doing lines of it off of his thumb.
He offered to sell me a line, but I refused. I am with you in that such behavior seems unthinkable in my own life, with my knowledge of the risks (and my lack of severe addiction).
