Quite a strong minded person with good willpower and determination. I stopped tobacco cold turkey with no real withdrawal symptoms. I used 2 night ago but tomorrow night is an ideal opportunity. How much of a break should someone give this substance without experiencing withdrawal symptoms?

Substance in question is 70% amphetamine sulphate administered intranasally, not meth.

There are no physical withdrawal symptoms from amphetamines. There is a crash when the amp wears off, but this is easily manageable with proper hydration, food, sleep & a benzodiazepine.

The risk you face is more psychological in nature. Amphetamines effects are largely mediated through dopamine and to a lesser degree norepinephrine that will cause intense cravings to redose & revisit the drug in the future. Your brain interprets dopamine release as a reward like sex, food, love, achieving goals, and other activities that are necessary for survival. However the dopamine released by amphetamines is massive in comparison, so you will intensely crave it. This is why drugs like (meth)amphetamine are so psychologically addicting. The user will continue to seek & use these drugs.

It doesn't matter how 'strong minded with good willpower and determination' you are, it will eventually suck you in as it has countless others who have come before you with the same preconceived notions. Just be aware that it is a very psychologically addictive drug.

You just have to stay in a positive healthy mind state. Know your not gunna do it again. Tell you self "don't try this anymore", and "I'm not gunna get addicted." Simply works for me

(Although much harder to follow this rule with opiates =D

Promised myself no opiates (even Xanax etc on amphetamine comedown), meth or crack. Have stuck to this and intend to continue doing so. Amphetamine/speed is the 'hardest' I'll go.

Saying that I'll use codeine but not regularly. But apart from that no opiates unless medically prescribed/administered.

Just don't ever binge and stay up for days. Keep the usage to about once a week and try not to redose loads of times.

I've used A LOT of Amphetamine but never once felt a withdrawal or a desire to use more since I last did months ago. I will warn you though years ago I started off with Adderall, Ritalin, Concerta and the like and eventually got too curious and started using meth. It's like how people move from hydrocodone and oxycodone to heroin. But I really love uppers so I'm not saying that will or will not happen, just a thought.

I'm currently going fighting the urge to sniff some more of my addy. It's 1:00am and it's probably a terrible idea that I'll regret, but im probably gonna do it anyway. I loved it from the get go, 8th grade summer. I remember my buddy J used to come around and feed us 30IRs all day. Good times. Then 9th grade was buying them from everybody with a script, eventually got a vyvanse script. Now I have an addy script. so i guess about 10 years of using them. Im just super worried I only have 5 left and two weeks to go until my refill. Wish I had some dope or benzo or even some beers to chill on. I guess ill just do a few lines and Hope that I find something to keep my interest while i wait for the sun to come up. And back to the main question, it really depends on the type of person you are, and how the drug effects you I guess. Since day one ive been a fein lol dont know what else to tell you man, good luck!

Well....im inclined to say one could use as often as they wanted, provided their willpower was strong enough.

However, its probably more reasonable to say that one could use as frequently as they wish...provided they are not encountering issues with tolerance, in my experience there is not much issue with addiction so long as there isn't an issue with tolerance.

Generally if you take frequent breaks (approximately 2 or 3 times longer than whatever your normal break between doses is) without issue.....youll be fine

However this is an extremely subjective question.....so its impossible to say as it will vary with everyone..........

Yep^, if you have an addictive personality you could have a problem with them. They are deceptively addictive in that when you first start youre in this grandiose state of mind thinking that you can do anything, but once you start chasing that feeling it fucks with your mood big time. I havent had meth but this was my experience with adderall and vyvanse

It goes far beyond that. The vasoconstriction approaches nerve endings, it also increases the brain's capacity to produce dopamine, which makes amphetamines+sex better than sex or amphetamines alone. I would go as far as saying that having sex without amphetamines is better than taking amphetamines and doing nothing.

Pinpoint is quite right on the psychological addiction potential. Many people say that it's just a sensation and that it's not real, like the car they drive or the food they eat...but my opinion is that the sensation can be more real and down to Earth than the biggest mathematical truth.

Also keep in mind that, throughout your use, the idea will arise that you could also do well without sleep for a few days. Before you decide to skip consecutive nights on amphetamines, know that there is a big dark beast lurking in a bush, that will come out and you will have to be mentally strong to endure what follows.

oh boy amphetamines are the devil and the grip they have on you never lets loose.

take this from a person who has ADHD, was scribed dexies for 2 years, then cut loose from them.

there's not much physical withdrawal (maybe a week of lethargy) but after that, the psychological withdrawal is incessant and for me personally never fails to amaze me at just how insidious they are.

perhaps you're different. but you're playing with a different kind of beast here in my opinion.

Does tolerance build at a similar rate with amphetamines as it does with other drugs?

I don't believe in tolerance when it comes to amphetamines...at least not one you could measure. It takes months to rebuild your body nutrients and energy you lost consuming amphetamines, so the fact that the dose does less to you is mostly because your body is exhausted and cannot give any output.

moving this to sober living.

well, you'll have to tell that to everyone else who develops tolerance to the euphoric effects of amphetamine pretty rapidly. i guess they missed the memo?

it's true that if you appreciate amphetamine for what it is - a stimulant - that you'll be happier with it than someone who expects it to be the sole source of euphoria. But at the same time, there's no reason you can't use caffeine under similar circumstances, and feel just as good. Caffeine is cheaper, the FDA thinks it's safe, and is just as effective as amphetamine to reduce fatigue and increase concentration, in fact it lasts about half as long (4-6h effects for most people) and has less potential for destruction of monoaminergic neurons.

There's always modafinil, its enantiomer ar-modafinil, CRL40941, etc. The US military uses those. And methyl/ethylphenidate, although usually people who like amphetamines don't like reuptake inhibitors. But those are both effective stimulants, shorter duration than amphetamine, and equally effective for improving concentration. As long as you eat properly and don't take humongous doses you should be able to handle the crash.

it is true that some people can manage to use 30-60mg of amphetamine a day for years and it stays effective, but most people who use it are going to find that the first time is the best and every time thereafter is inferior in terms of euphoria.
