Everyone knows that Amphetamines (such as adderall/dexedrine) is bad with Orange Juice.

But what about these drinks:

Gatorade/Powerade
Apple Juice
Soft Drinks (such as Coca-Cola/Pepsi)

?

Are you talking about drinking them when you take the amphetamines or during the high? Acid is supposed to prevent absorption, so any acidic drink consumed at the same time should in theory diminish the effects. I've honestly never noticed a difference.

Gatorade/Powerade has always been my favorite to consume while amped. I'm convinced it has kept me alive during some hot summer amphetamine binges.

Hahaha, funny you say that, because I love those drinks while I'm on Amphetamine's as well! I wouldn't really think that acidic beverages could noticeably worsen the absorption of Amphetamine either, as our stomach is already full of "stomach acid", is it not? But, that's not to say that the opposite isn't possible.

yea, i've heard amphetamine is absorbed easier when the balance of your stomach is less acidic.

but i doubt drinking soda is gonna make a real difference.

I've personally noticed a difference. Honestly it feels as if carbonated beverages make the amps come on stronger and last for a shorter timespan.

However, the strongest "geek" I have ever had was on an empty stomach after taking several antacids.

Technically yes, PH will effect amphetamine excretion. Taking a amphetamine pill with a tall glass of OJ may have some effect but honestly it probably won't be noticeable.

A few drinks, even if they are acidic isn't really going to change PH much.

Found this:

From Psychiatric Secrets by Dr. James L. Jacobson, 2nd ed:

All of the stimulant-class medications are moderately strong bases (pH 12–13). If these medications are present in the lumen of the gut with organic acids such as citric acid or ascorbic acid (vitamin C), the stimulant medication is ionized and cannot be absorbed from the gut into the blood stream. The following foods should be avoided for 1 hour before and after taking a dose of stimulant class medication:
Citrus fruit

Citrus juices

Fruit juices with citric acid as a preservative

Sodas/carbonated beverages

Kool Aid, lemonade, Gatorade

Poptarts, granola bars, breakfast bars

Oral suspension medications

Vitamins and food supplements containing vitamin C

I thought Orange Juice was the only drink to avoid!

In my experience with amphetamines, if I drank orange juice while taking adderall, I had absolutely no effects or very diminished effects. I learned to take them with milk or water then only drink water while on them. The difference between OJ/soda and milk/water is night and day, at least for me.
