amphetamines causing adhd

I've noticed that when you get a script for an amphetamine (adderall, ritalin, etc.)
from personal experience that if you keep abusing the pills daily the drug starts to be come nothing more then a sick pill, all the good effects go away and the bad ones are always there, i think not taking them everyday and give yourself a break this wont happen.

but i got my first adderall script when i thought i had adhd and now im noticing my pills are calming me down? they used to be speedy but i feel they have caused me to actually have adhd, anyone have something similar happen?

ADHD is highly situational I'm afraid, the symptoms of it can be caused by many things from boredom to amphetamine overuse. There's no concrete law that says people with ADHD feel calmer on amphetamines and everyone else gets stimulated. It is entirely possible that in some situations, one individual may find amphetamine helps him concentrate, whereas if they are stressed all it does is make them a scattered paranoid mess. There's also the question of dose to resolve - at higher doses it can be unbelievably hard to concentrate due to the 'pressure of theought'amphetamine lends itself to.

So to answer your question, you're not alone in having amphetamines go from a concentration tool to making your ADHD worse.

To add on...

I feel "doomed" if I run out of activities to do while I am on amphetamine. That's why the doctor tells most to only take it when concentration and focus is needed.

If I take adderall in the wrong situations... (Places where you are idly sitting still with no activity to concentrate on.) I get scatter brained.

It's a real trip. The effects do "Wish-Wash"... Sometimes, I only get high and scatter brained even if there is an activity to focus on.

The pleasant euphoria does not last forever and it would be ill-advised to chase those feelings.

I noticed after long term stim abuse bolth being left with very bad ADHD and OCD. Permanent. I don't use its been around a year and a half from the time I last stims but Im still OCD pretty bad and ADHD. I deal with it my self. Abuse drugs and shit happens.

After using amphetamines as study aids for years now, I can say that I certainly have ADHD symptoms if I don't take stimulants and have a lot of work to do.

First it giveth...then it taketh away...

Two things you failed to mention:
1. Diet - It plays a significant role with how your meds affect you
2. Manufacturer - In a perfect world, the formula would never change.
Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world and the formula does tend to change once it gets around the block several times.
The original manufacturer for adderall sold their patent 3 years ago to another company that went bankrupt.

What is the dose that you are taking? If you have IR pills, not the beads, then you can try halving or even quartering your doses.

this is common in people who do not experience ADHD/ADD symptoms sober. i do not have a dopamine deficiency, and thus i cannot focus when i take amphetamines. i study better without drugs, except marijuana %)
