For the sake of harm reduction, I was wondering if it is okay to take ibuprofen or apap while on amphetamines.

I am an occasional user who takes between 40-80mg adderall to study and be productive. This sometimes gives me body aches (specifically lower back) and head aches. I try to stay sufficiently hydrated, and force down some food (bananas are best) but I am still left feeling achy.

Forgive my ignorance, but I am not sure how amphetamines are metabolized. I would assume the kidneys and liver are put under stress. Would ibuprofen or APAP, at their regular doses, be okay to take?

Thanks

if you have asthma, be careful with the adderall/ibuprofin combo.

I've personally had issues w/ water retention from that combo and the combo of adderall/naproxen; however, my physical responses to drugs/combos seem to be on the whole abnormal. IMO, if you have a normal response to drugs, you should be ok.

I don't have any problems w/ almost daily use of adderall and excedrine (APAP, aspirin, and caffeine). So IME just APAP alone should be ok. Finally, i don't recommend you try the Excedrine/Adderall combo if you are studying b/c Excedrine potentiates the Adderall in a nasty jittery way and your lower back pain will likely increase. i take it at the 1st sign of a headache because Adderall can trigger my terrible migraines if i don't.

Personally, I've never had any trouble taking ibuprofen or paracetamol (APAP) with amphetamines.
