I need some help with what you guys do with the depression caused by adderall. I usually redose or take something to knock me out like trazadone, but I am pill less and the depression is getting the best of me at this point. I need help.

I forgot to mention my abdomen starts to feel like it's on fire sometimes, well not quite that bad but close, I assume it's from not eating but any support on this either? I know there isn't gonna be much help for any of this, but hey you never know till you try, right?

well, unfortunately, depression is an extremely common side effect in chronic amphetamine users.

as for your abdomen, not eating certainly sounds like it could be the culprit. do you have liquid diarrhea? if so then it's that.

the solution?

stop taking amphetamines. eat. take some magnesium and vitamins. shower and sleep. you're worrying too much because you're used to having anxiolytics to deal with the anxiety and depression of stimulants. now that they're gone, the dormant anxiety and depression are resurfacing. if you feel the symptoms are starting to get serious, don't hesitate to get medical attention even if it's for psychological symptoms only.

i'm moving this.

homeless -> basic

good luck.

They started getting really bad last Friday so I decided to quit taking adderall and I tried cold turkey. It worked for 3 days then I relapsed today and I love the drug but hate the side effects. The depression gets me the hardest. Sometimes I will literally cry to someone about somethin I regret.

if the depression is that serious, did you attempt to discuss this with your physician. if you can't quit adderall, perhaps an extremely low dose of a serotonergic drug can aid the depression. more than a low dose and the effects of the amphetamines will be diminished. i'm talking low as in 25 milligrams of sertraline.

do you think you might be withdrawing from the trazadone? how long have you been taking it?

No I know I am not having withdraw from trazadone. I hardly take it. I take amitriptyline more than trazadone... Well did ( tell you why I stopped in a sec) but I never took near enough to get addicted. 100mg here and there. I stopped taking amitriptyline cuz a close friend of mine had a friend that died from an allergic reaction to it so I'm just gonna respect that and not take it.

Eating more and a variety of food should help the abdominal issues. Liquid food if solid isn't possible. Antacids work as well. I found getting out and trying new things is stimulating and alleviates such depression a bit.

I've occasionally experienced strange abdominal feelings almost pain on rec. doses of UPs.
Even when I eat, the feeling returns sometimes.
Not sure if it's a side effect that I've overlooked or what but depression is hand in hand with lack of sleep and "raging" on UPs.
When I get to that point I back off for a week plus.

I always thought that amphetamine sort of activates your solar plexus area and tenses those muscles involuntarily which causes abdomen pain, not even having to do with eating or not.
