Is amphetamine sulphate, the 'speed' used commonly in Europe the same drug in some pharmaceutical stimulant meds, dexamphetamine sulphate?

Well, I believe Adderall contains parts of two amphetamines. D-amps and l-amps (maybe one more amphetamine as well, not sure) are contained in Adderall. I believe only l-amps are in another common medication, Vyvanse. So I think that D-amp is part of the common medication you speak of. I could be totally wrong on this though.

I'd actually be interested in knowing this also. I'm not in Europe, but it's still interesting.

Yes, adderall contains both. They are both isomers of amphetamine, sort of like right and left handed gloves is how someone here explained it to me once. If you like me have trouble getting your mind around that at first the 3-d molecules erowid shows might help. Vyvanse does not contain l-amp but rather a drug (the name of which eludes me at the moment, and yes, it starts with "L") which must be metabolized to amphetamine. Sort of a time release at the molecular level. To the OP, based on the lack of potency, and for other reasons I'm unsure how to discuss without straying into sythesis, I assume speed in europe is racemic. Certainly it is amphetamine.

Adderall contains FOUR amphetamine salts, three of them are D isomer and the fourth is an L isomer. And for Vyvanse, it is prodrug of D-AMP. And for the other amphetamine medication prescribed, Dexedrine, that is pure D-amphetamine.

As for speed in Europe, I have no clue.
