amphetamine+methamp questions

I've seen some posts where people were talking about taking adderall and meth together and a lot of the replys went something like "the meth will just overpower the adderall and you won't feel it.". I was just wondering if that were true? Not that Im planning on it, but wouldn't the extra amp just raise dopamine that much more?

Also, I've read that dexamp is 1/2 the strength of dexmethamp. As I understand it meth delivers some of its effects through the seratonin system. Do regular amps effect this system at all, or was the comparison towards the DA& NE systems?? Thanks.

They both have very similar action, they both effect NA, DA, 5-HT in that order. I wouldn't know the difference between amphetamine and methamphetamine if I took them, so I cant imagine what that person would mean.

As far as I was aware, they have similar doses; the difference is that methamphetamine has a higher brain permiance, so you get more central effects, and less peripheral side effects.

^ Funny that; you'd think that meth would have it's own set of peripheral side effects that were every bit annoying as those for amphetamine; N-methylation generally increases beta-adrenergic activity when compared with primary amines, so you'd expect more heart trouble with meth. My experience with meth though was that for the same degree of stimulant effect, methamphetamine was pretty much free of a lot of the PNS side effects of amphetamine (except for the unavoidable, like dry mouth).

A similar dose (as above) of meth seems to have a lot more 'crazy potential' compared with amphetamine though. The few times I've ever experienced really heavy duty paranoia etc were with methamphetamine; by comparison amphetamine just makes you edgy and jumpy (the lack of those type effects made the meth paranoia a lot more sinister and disconcerting).

For that reason (as well as the issues of neurotoxicity) given a choice I'd rather just stick with plain ol' amphetamine.
