amphetamine discussion

Will people stop posting in this fucking thread abotu how amphetamines suck, if yall prefer being smacked out on a matress in some shitty abandoned house, then good for you.

But let us have some fucking discussion, you all have enough threads about fucking heroin.

I've tried amps once, I'll tell you how it goes down. This is a true story.

I was in community college taking Auto, a kid in my class had ADD and gave me some of his ritalin. I took it, felt awake and chatty for maybe 2 hours. When I start coming down I'm trying to put a drum brake back together *those of you who do auto know It's not all that easy* needless to say I never finished putting it back together and I haven't been back to college since.

Meth is better

Ive seen what amphetamines have done to cool people. I seriously think some people were born to be tweekers though.

lol i can believe that

amphetamine has fucked up a close friend of mine up big time... he was a big time addict (about £30-50 a day), he was doing drugs since he was a teenage, smoking dope and that... and then he got into the wrong people then the world of speed took over his life, he also IVs it... doing it daily for around 4 years... it has screwed him up big time, he will never be the same person again.

he is no longer an addict to it like he used to be... but sometimes does it with me.

altho i still do speed... but will never get into what he did because of it.

it would be good for more amphetamine discussion as its not really something found on this forum.

I agree with the separate discussion idea.

If this thread continues in here, it will just turn into a petty and pointless "Uppers vs. Downers" kind of thing, and that's silly, since we all know that there's different strokes for different folks.

Honestly, all drugs are bad if done in excess without consideration for yourself or those around you. I have no delusions about speed being better than heroin, or vice versa. I've seen people destroy themselves with speed, and I've seen people destroy themselves with alcohol and xanax. Remember, it's not the drugs that destroy people, but people who allow themselves to be taken by the drugs. While some can resist the downward spiral of addiction, many more cannot.

Bleh. Anyway, my point is is that no drug "sucks" more than another, because any drug in the hand of the right individual can be a horrible nightmare for them and the people around them, or a blessing, making them a better more enlightened person.

* On a side note: Hello! I'm glad to finally post in here. Love the site, been reading your discussions a lot lately. See ya around %) *

I totally agree. I don't understand why there are so few focus forums here. I think it would be a much better idea if there was one for stimulants, one for opioids, etc etc. That way we probably would see less of this fucking childish "my drug is better then your drug" bullshit. It would be easier to focus all the knowledge people got and would most likely make for much, much better discussions.

I'd much rather be a tweaker, and spend my days working hard and earning a paycheck.

Than be a heroin addict and spend my days in abandoned houses shooting up and laying on mattresses.

Awww HELL naw dog, you gotta cop dope in the ghetto, shoot some smack into your left testicle in an alley and then break into boarded up building and collapse on a mattress that ten thousand homeless drifters urinated on! The feeling you get when you do all that is like, so totally RAW man! Better than any OD..

Heh.. I'm a heroin addict and I spend my days working my sorry ass off doing janitor work for good money... no harm intended with my sarcasm, I kinda love your description of a junkie's daily activities... I mean, I won't like, I certainly have spend multiple days sitting on mattresses, and I have indeed shot up in abandoned buildings more than once... oh what fun..

Peace.

EDIT: Whoops! I forgot what this thread was even about! ;) fucking smack.. ANyway, I have no problems whatsoever with amps. I don't quite see this villification of meth/amp sulph/etc that yall seem to be describing. Having at least lurked around OD for a long while, I can say a lot of it is methheads saying meth is better and regular amphetamine folks saying their shite's better.

As for the potential for people's opinions to be swayed by the media portrayals of simulant drugs use, I'd kinda hope we could mostly see past that sort of thing here on this board, and I think for the most part we do. I have never gone on a major speed kick, so I don't know speed psychosis. But I know what coke does to my body, and that's the reason that I prefer heroin over uppers. Yes, I get unbelievably ill when I don't have gear, which is nearly never, so there is a trade off there, but coke just tears the fuck out of my body and makes me into a hollow eyed zombie in about a week or less.

i find i often come on bluelight if i up from tweaking. I used to eat meth, now smoke it so go through a lot more 8) . Had a bit of a problem for a while still would say i had a dependence but severely reduced my intake. Definitely noticed changes like being less considerate of others and less patient so can see the downside always got downers so never crash that bad tho and i've never slept well anyway so don't need much. I try to stay healthy, work and keep a normal routine, but do use a few times a week even if it's just a pipe in the morning, which is kinda frustrating but i also rationalize it like a cup of coffee. Hate the media propaganda ice epidemic bullshit they need to print accurate information cos there are problems with amphetamine addiction on the rise but i'm not going to believe the crap printed in the paper - information on this site is generally good i think a discussion would be beneficial too.

cos i didn't weigh much to begin with and lost 5 kilos over three months i look a bit malnourished - more so like an eating disorder and hate people commenting on how thin i look cos 5 kilos isn't that noticable if i was bigger, so trying to put on some weight, but i generally eat when i'm on gear anyway.

i like to be busy and there just aren't enough hours in the day. but the shit can quickly turn you gotta be careful especially smoking or iv, really any method of administration. like smoking but it's hard to do when ur out?

also xanax would be the most essential thing for me (was even way before i took meth) so i don't get the uppers vs downers thing and don't mind opiates occasionally either so wish there wasn't so much bitching. also a junkie is a junkie be it smack or meth don't have a problem with either just trying to live with an addiction... don't like the scum that steal to support a habit tho - get a job if you need the drugs that badly and want to waste your cash on getting high (i generally do) at least earn it.

That some frequent amphetamine users have their personalities permanently altered by their use is hardly the fault of the drug.

Obviously, different people have different brain chemistries. It is your responsibility to asses the compatibly of your own brain and any substance. It floors me that there are people taking daily doses of amphetamines who both recognize the gradual decline of their character and continue to take the drug!

If you find yourself becoming a miserable, tired, angry robot when you are on or off the drug, then you have become this robot as result of the amphetamines+your-brain-chemistry, not the drug alone. I'm sure this has been said a million times before, I just find it surprising that it would ever bear repeating in a community as enlightened as this.

Anyway, the "born to be a tweaker" comment brings up something I've been curious about for a while. I've noticed now through a few dozen cases of anecdotal evidence that people who love cocaine are the same people who react poorly to amphetamines, and vise versa. By "poorly" I mean they are clearly not candidates for frequent use of either drug: they fall victim to its worse side-effects and idiosyncrasies, or experience terrible crashes/withdrawals, or have just a general distaste for the drug (or, in the case of cocaine, it acts as an anesthetic without any of the effects coke is adored for).

I'm far from a neurologist, but I've come to think that those for speed and against coke are, perhaps, dopamine deficient. Speed reacts marvelously with these people because it supplies them with the dopamine they don't have, while coke reacts poorly because there is not enough dopamine to inhibit the re-uptake of. I know 6 people like this, including myself. We all find dextroamphetamine to be something of a miracle drug; increasing mood, motivation, sociability, creativity, etc., while missing out on most of the dehumanizing and psychotic side-effects. We are also completely immune to dependency. Long-term daily use can be dropped with no withdrawal to speak of, save for some short-term lethargy. Off the speed, we have all found that we return to the state of mind we were in pre-speed.

On the contrary, the many, many people who 'favor' coke, become angry, emotionless robots (in the extreme cases), with moderate to severe dependency issues, after any use greater than truly 'recreational'. Perhaps this is because their dopamine 'supply' is increased well beyond their natural, already high levels. The subsequent comedown — beginning, I would imagine, the moment the amphetamines stop supplementing dopamine, regardless of whether the stimulant properties have worn off — results in something comparable to opiate withdrawal. Their normal levels of dopamine are no longer sufficient, and so they react accordingly, whereas the other group of people have been running a dopamine deficit of sorts, and so have never been dependent on it.

I would be really interested in learning if there is any truth to this from someone who knows their stuff.

Before being placed on first Dex caps at 60mgs daily, then adding Desoxyn, i was an alcoholic drug addict-i drank for breakfast. Now i have lost interest in recreational drug/alcohol abuse.

I could never drink socially,
I could never smoke dope socially
I could never do anything socially

I did it to get fucked up-i was born an addict.

These meds allow me to stay on track.

Both drugs have their befefits:
My daily routine:

1. 30 mg Ritalin plus coffee gets me up in the morning.
2. 30 mg Morphine (Time Release) Small dose relieves pain all day
3. 20 mg Ritalin after lunch keeps me going strong all afternoon
4. 10mg. Hydro takes away break through pain and helps work to 8:00 P.M (while co-workers rush home at 5:00 P.M.)
5. 30 mg Morphine and Xanax gives good night sleep

Get out of bed next day and repeat!

The above combination got me through the 5 years where I earned the most money of my career. I also enjoyed the job.

I'm new here, first time poster!

I take Adderall and it's no different than any other drug if you decide to cross the line and abuse it.

Any drug, whether it be prescribed or street .... works only as good as your circumstance.

There is no magic pill!

I'm the exact same way. I go up and down in the dosage I use so often, cutting the drug out of my days and weeks the same.

I've gone through about a year of off and on amphetamine use, had a couple weekends where I would binge to stay up, but thats not been the case lately. I quit cigarettes without a problem the same way; remember, nicotine is a stimulant affecting dopamine, etc. I'm this way with any dopaminergic drug; actually, any drug.

I use solely amphetamines (dextro-amphetamine sulphate, dexedrine; adderall) with some frequency, but not as frequent as many think of an amphetamine user (to the media: a scourge on society). Hell, I've seen my dosages going down, without any conscious thought to it, over the past couple months. And honestly, to me, using amphetamines simply becomes a way for me to stretch beyond the boundaries that I have previously had. 10mg affects me still, while I go for higher doses ranging between 30 and 60mg. I take doses spread out, and find sleeping to be better while on amphetamines than not. I'm an insomniac, and have ADD inattentive subtype. My high iq often plays its part well to cover the symptoms and nature of my inattention.

Amphetamines, to me, are not so much the same way others have come to believe. I get a feeling of normality, with talkativeness and attention that really doesn't come on as strongly. I function just as well not under the influence of amphetamines as I do while under the influence. Don't expect one person to be the same way I am. The bliss I experience when on amphetamines has allowed me to sit through the SAT's, including today. I fall asleep in my classes, even a time during my english final exam my freshman year; though, while on amphetamines I'm with the program not missing it. Amphetamines do not create the sense of paranoia, or depression others have come to place alongside amphetamine use, abuse, and misuse over the recent times.

Amphetamines for some offer a simple solution, but don't generate the addictive nature that has erupted across the media's poor portrayal of the chemical. Ignorance may be blissful to some; though, to me, ignorance pollutes the discussion, and the debates that result, with deceptive media slogans.

It may be 5:15pm, nearly 11 hours after my initial 30mg (2x 15mg spansule) of dexedrine, but the effects are just as they were earlier. The 20mg (instant release) of adderall I had taken 2 hours after the dexedrine let me function without a tweaked nature during the SAT, and I owe my success today to it, but nothing more. I comedown from amphetamines easier than others; in actuality, I enjoy some of the comedown aspects: restless thoughts, slight nausea, etc. I see pleasure in some pains through a biological tendency that causes the comedown, and subsequent withdrawal effects, of amphetamines to be quite easily handled without complaint.

To those against amphetamine's:
It's a ramble in some minds, to users its an insightful reflection. Let it be as it may; this is a discussion about amphetamines not an anti-drug website, share your slander elsewhere.

amphetamine really does do something to you... i need the drug, i love the high... it has something over me, because when im not on it all i think about is speed, when im high all i think about is what to do next... next mission? more speed? when shall i do my next hit... etc

all i can say... FUCK.

I dunno how you can get addicted to this stuff.. i bomb some speed now and then but the day after is horrible i dont like even thinking about doing more. I suppose IV is different but as it is, just a one-off when i cant get anything better.

/\ as an ex IV speed freak, it's pretty easy to get sucked in. But once you stop & get a few months distance from it, i totally agree with you - i would never, NEVER want to get back into doing it regularly, let alone daily, you just feel shit ALL the time, so much so you can't get out & experience anything else in life. Total waste of your existence.

^^^ I'd say the same thing about even low doses of Adderall. Very easy to do it every day. But do it every day for too long, and you'll begin to see the subtle ways it lowers your quality of life.

And damn. Does it feel good to QUIT after doing it every day for a month! Once the crash is over, of course.

^^^ MyDoors, whats your definition of low doses of adderall? I take it 4-5 days a week at 5-10mg's and never notice any comedowns at all, other than the day I take it a little. But nothing the next day.

Also, for you American amph users what is your typical dosage, and how much to get high?

I like to take 5-10mg's so it doesn't give me a bad comedown, any more than that and I don't like the side effects

right on, dude. i've been a junkie for 10+ years now and i do ok as a freelance/fine-art photographer. it got me through some of highschool, all of college, and it's been keeping me going through almost-mid-adulthood. 'course, i'd be a moron if i didn't admit that certain aspects of my life would have been/and could currently be much-improved if i got off the junk. but i did want to point out that we don't all live in dumpsters with tin-foil hats on to combat the cosmic rays and making a living selling diseased booty to mentally-ill buyers just for a couple of crappy bags of 90% rat poison etc/10% heroin that - naturally - we can only successfully inject in our unfortunate genitals.

i can honestly say that when the day comes that the - only - injection site left is located in, around, or really anywhere near my pubic region, i'll give up smack and take up, i don't know...drive-by shooting? macrame? either one could get me killed. forget it, drugs are safer.
