why is there not an amphetamine discussion? It would save searching through other drugs and there are enough threads posted. i don't get why there is a discussion for ecstasy specifically but not amphetamines... just wondering.

While that link works for Aussie's, most non-regional (and certainly non-Aussie) people may still have the same question. So, I'm going to push this to OD (where uppers are discussed...somewhat) and let it serve as a 2-way notice. Anyone wondering can now know there is a magnificent FAQ hidden over in AusDD and OD members can point out any other relevant threads in OD...or build this into one :)

A lot of people who hang around here seem to really hate anything to do with speed/meth/amp, with a ferocity that puzzles me. Yes, people who are seriously addicted to it are, at best, unattractive and annoying. But I don't see the same level of venom directed at other drugs, most of which can wreak the same level of havoc in a person's world as anything speedy.

Go-fast drugs are what the media loves to hate these days, so I'm inclined to think that responsible recreational users of them are a victim of bad PR. There's not much we can do, but just wait it out, until some new drug becomes the scourge of the press, and the panic over amps becomes something quaint, like reefer madness.
 
Ive seen what amphetamines have done to cool people. I seriously think some people were born to be tweekers though.
 
amphetamines are a bad thing if you take to many for too long you get what is called an Amphetamine induced Schizophrenia and that never goes away. All the paranoia etc. with it is horrible from the ppl ive seen.


Personally after my Adderall Experience for a few months it gets retarded amphetamine sulfate gets retarded after awhile i really prefer slow drugs like valium xanax and vicodin and oxycontin.
 
Well put. I'm a stoner 'till the end but I will always love my "pheties." Recently I've been dabbling in booting, not as "sweet" as I expected, but then again, maybe I just need to up the dosage. (Lol) My fucking solution to everything.

Amphetamines, without a doubt, have been known to turn cool people into losers or idiots. However, for the most part, the tweakers one meets along the way seem to belong there----part of the cultural landscape, as it were. And its just that: the CULTURE of amphetamines that, to me, at least, warrants a discussion group.
 
I'd much rather be a tweaker, and spend my days working hard and earning a paycheck.

Than be a heroin addict and spend my days in abandoned houses shooting up and laying on mattresses.

Meth can be cool but from the times i've used them, d-amp felt a hellofalot cleaner, and didn't leave me sleepless nearly as long. To each thier own though.
 
amphetamines are nice, but too many junkie-type people are giving it a bad name.
I've seen videos where they'd inject or smoke half a gram to a gram of shit in 1 day. A gram can easily give me a month's worth of increased concentration & focus.. I just eat it too..
But on the other hand, maybe its not the increased concentration and focus the junkie is after, the effects are probably of a different drug altogether when half a gram is shot up... Who knows whats going on in that head of theres... it couldn't be much..
 
I think amphetamine is great. Although I've gone on kicks where I've taken it every day for a month, I have never taken heroic doses of it. To me, a person who's always taken it in micro amounts, it's just like a super cup of coffee.

Newbierock, I couldn't agree more. Amphetamine helps me get shit done. I get very productive, eager to move around, and able to be my best self when I'm on 10mg or so, plus some coffee. The price to pay is that it makes me a bit more... erm... square. My thought processes and interests while I'm speeding are more conventional, less quirky, more rigid. I can see why people say things like, 'Ever since he went on Adderall he's not as cool to be with anymore.'

I really don't consider amphetamine to be a party drug on its own. If I'm at a loooong party that's alcohol and marijuana based, 5mg of amps about 2/3 of the way through gives me just enough energy to stay alert and sociable through the bitter end, but then still be able to sleep.

Amphetamine is a very practical drug, kind of like benzos. It's for keeping me up and motivated, AND ENJOYING IT, whether that's on a double shift at work, during a 12 hour solo drive, or at an unusually long party where there's lots of people I need to visit with. It's not something I would take just for shits and giggles.
 
/\ Absolutely..i kinda take that to extremes, in that it's frequently an all day, every day drug, but it just makes everything so do-able (have to get up early, go to work, get stuff done then see friends & still be awake to drive home afterwards - no problem!), and so much FUN, and really cuts down on the 'god this is dull, what the fuck am i doing here?' aspects of life. Everything becomes much more amusing on speed =D

Although currently i have none for the first time in fucking ages, and feel like shit :X
